Amos is the reason I picked up a bass after watching Tesseract live in London. Thank you, Sir!

Like so many of us, ive been learning this song. Im actually playing it on a fretless, and lemme tell ya, the octave slides are *amazing* on a fretless bass. Im definitely recording a cover once i get the song down.

This is probably stupid but all that is needed for the tone is the Darkglass compressor and distortion? There is no amp for example? (Guitarist learning bass)
@Zip2461996 Жыл бұрын
Check out his description, the RME does most of the processing which is then edited in Pro Tools.
@warrenoids9 ай бұрын
The RME has no production capabilities. The tone generated is mostly through the Darkglasses, yes, but I'd wager that there are some post processing happening within Pro Tools after it's being recorded. To answer the original question, yes you'll get very close with both Darkglass pedals.

Amos, I love you man! You and Jay have taught me how to play more "efficiently" ... less can be more. I don't mean that as a backhanded complement, but just, yeah, trying to play in a modern progressive metal world is hard. But anyway, "King" is still in my top 5 best songs ever written. @@dominikmaichel254this is correct (I asked Amos directly about some tunings at a meet & greet). He's also playing a 4 string live now, so I doubt the G string saw much, if any, notes played so it wouldn't be super relevant how it was tuned.

Seeing metal heads trying to slap in ivy league band's does not sound right, then leave it to the funk/ jazz masters.
