You need to fit the thermal sensor inside the top heater that way it won't over shoot like this the heater is heating up to the max temperature and if you use it on a gpu it will kill the gpu

That was excellent. Thank you. I have a new board that would not post (returned for new copy and the system then worked fine with new board), however when I returned it they would not refund due to 'bent pins'. The bent pins happened when we remove the cpu. I was teaching my son how to build his system. I explained to the supplier that the board would not post. Even without a CPU on there it should post to "No CPU found". It would only post if I held pressure on the board at various spots leading me to believe there was a loose connection somewhere in the board. Have you seen such issues? Mike

@blackhorserepairs5 күн бұрын
set the heater to heat up the top of the board to about 150C. Start blowing with 260C from the top, if it doesn't let lose keep increasing to about 280-290, probably don't go above 290 but all depends on the tool you use. Use slow air flow. The nozzle must cover the entire socket and be very low. Let me know how it went. Good luck!
@charuincarnation6 күн бұрын
After watching this I tested a different thermocouple on my machine and had the same problem. It was very easy to fix, if you flip the machine upside down there is a panel held on by four screws. The front panel thermocouple socket is wired to the PC410 controller. I swapped the two wires on the PC410 and rewired the thermocouple the machine came with (I verified it was backwards on a seperate temp meter).
@blackhorserepairs6 күн бұрын
did it improve the accuracy of the temperature measured? Thank you so much, I thought I'd have to remove the top and front panel to do that but this makes it a lot easier :)
@charuincarnation6 күн бұрын
@@blackhorserepairs No improvements to accuracy from what I can tell, however both the thermocouple that came with the machine and a random one I had read the same temperature now. I dont have a good temperature standard to test against but I can see what my FLIR says versus the probe.
@charuincarnation5 күн бұрын
PCB's are too thermally reflective. The FLIR shows a reflection of the IR heater and not much else. 3D printers use a NTC3950 thermistor that is pretty very accurate and perfect for the temp range we are at but im unsure if there is a board that could translate resistance to K type thermocouple voltage

Hello great video I have one of these and I'm having problems with top heater I changed the bottom heater to 4 600watt elstein I've bought 4 80 ×80 top heater of aliexpress and all were defective don't heat up evenly so I'm trying to source a elstein rfs80 but in UK cost 150 pound
@blackhorserepairs6 күн бұрын
Those heaters never heat up uniformly, that's why you need to compensate with proper temperature curve, set long enough dwell points and slow ramp with low holdback. 4x600W bottom heater definitely gets the job done but you can get the same results with a single 600W but longer cycle. Send some pics once you get all the parts together and let me know how it performs. I will eventually get to building my custom rework station but that will take a while for sure.
@peterstorey43606 күн бұрын
Yea I've tried everything with this machine apart from getting a elstein top plate that my next move I removed glass made bottom plate bigger because I thought the original bottom heater wasn't big enough for ps4 ps5 xbox boards I thought by making bottom heater larger it would heat more of the board up
@blackhorserepairs6 күн бұрын
@@peterstorey4360 In my opinion temperature curves are more important/impactful than the size/power of the heaters. It's only the matter of the proper curve for the hardware you have. Do you use any software for rework? Do you have some curves you can share and problems you're experiencing with them?

@@fikodikov1997 yeah, for PS boards this preheater might not be enough, you'll definitely need to mod it and even then it might no be powerful enough. For those boards, I suggest something more powerful.
@fikodikov199719 сағат бұрын
@@blackhorserepairsYes, it is actually small, but I think that by baking the plate and setting it to 180 190 below and with a quick station I can possibly get it, it happens that the preheater sensor is not correct and I have measured and it reaches the maximum 330 340, so with the mod I will be able to raise it a little more, it looks more stable in the video, by the way I like the ideas you have, greetings 🙂

@blackhorserepairs It seems that I have managed to find how to solve the problem of insufficient compression of the "basic engine design" (see a couple of pictures on my YT channel) And, in principle, I have the parts 3D models ready on 80%, for the first prototype. I think to order them in 3D printing (SLA) at first , to check the dimensions tolerance. And, perhaps, I could be even able, somehow, to check its "pump" functionality with them...
@blackhorserepairs6 күн бұрын
amazing!
@smv_-re5rb8 күн бұрын
0:56 This point has also caught my attention 🙂 And after thinking a while, and a rough geometric simulation in AD Fusion 360. I came to conclusion that such an engine is a kind of mixture of a gas turbine and a 4-stroke engine with very low compression ratio (5.9 is the maximum I got during simulations), and for this reason with quite low efficiency. In addition, at the very beginning of the combustion cycle, the vane has a very small working section exposed. And the expanding combustion gases at this point will try to mechanically damage the engine to a greater extent than to produce useful work. And given the other theoretical and practical technical challenges of the engine design concept, I am not at all surprised that none of the engineers, hobbyists or professionals, have yet made a relatively functional prototype of it. PS: Yes, the Wankel engine has long been known and is even used on an industrial scale, but it is not so efficient and not environmentally friendly. And in this regard, the "LiquidPiston" rotary engine seems to me to be better candidate for further development...
@blackhorserepairs8 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for sharing your results. This also confirms the suggestion that there are too many forces working against the sides of the engine. This was suggested a few times. Can you share the animation of the simulation and perhaps some numbers? Thank you so much!

@blackhorserepairs10 күн бұрын
interesting. does that address the sealing problem at all?
@Oogie-t6z9 күн бұрын
@@blackhorserepairs I don't know. I think if the end was a roller it could seal it with less friction and may not need oiling on the surface area. Trying to avoid oil/gas mix. So large roller on end of vane and a high tension spring between vane and center mass slot (crank). I think people trying to convert a vane air pump (pneumatic tool) and that won't work ... The center mass should have recess pocket like a rotor for the gas and air to go to as the air and gas gets compressed. 1. Intake Air and Fuel happen in first void, 2. Second void is Compression (Air Fuel are compressed into recess pocket 3. Ignition in 3rd void 4. Exhaust I think that is these models it's hard to see how this compression works...It's in the pocket... At least that's the way I see it. 😆

I guess you could have 6 vanes and two more plugs for a total of 4 plugs (180 out) in an imaginary vane engine...I think the 6 vanes might help the efficiency of this engine.

One thing I wanted to tell you is that seeing the problems you've had with the reballing station, I've been reviewing videos from other users, and in all of them I see that the four arms that hold the motherboard are placed the wrong way around from how you have them, which makes the plate closer to the bottom heater, that way I suppose the heat reaches better and allows it to be easier for the solder to melt. Without having much idea it seems that all the problems you've been having seem to come from the bottom. I hope you understand well what I want to explain, I had to use the translator since English is not my main language.
@blackhorserepairs13 күн бұрын
yes, there are advantages to flipping the holder arms. The increased distance to the bottom heater doesn't seem to have much impact on maximum temperature since the thermocouple is placed right on the board. Thank you so much!
