Under the slip bobber I have a 3/4 ounce inline weight with a bead to protect the know from the bobber. Below that I have a florocarbon leader of about 4’. Tie your bead or other bait on and drift. Check out some of our other lower river videos. We go into a lot of detail on the rig in a bunch of them. Also, if you’re planning a trip anytime soon please reconsider. Ice conditions right now are day to day and making it dangerous even if you know the river. Good luck and be safe!

it’s a 3 piece so not too bad. I don’t use any ties and manage ok.

It’s an egg sack tied in chartreuse spawn netting. The salmon eggs are cured in boraxo fire.

We launched at Fort Niagara. The launch is a little challenging but it works.

Seems like the ticket. We learned a lot in this first trip so downsizing the hook and using bigger shiners to get bit.

It’s a real mess out there right now.

No suits required but in a boat this size you need to have flotation device on. You’re right about the cold water, you would only have a short time to be scooped up.
