Would like to enroll my 11 year old daughter who swims competitively for her school in Lagos Nigeria for an online technique improvement class. What do I need to do?

off-topic: i remember 20 years ago.. women worldwide wearing very conservative bikinis showing very little "cheeks". then, after moking the brazilians countless times as "wh0res" for wearing bikinis that exposed too much cheeck, they finally saw that this attracts more men's attention. So, at the end, brazilians were right all the time, huh? 😆 ps. i'm brazilian and i always loved seeing more of that part of the female's anatomy 🙂

Interesting that the distance swimmer you interviewed recently indicated he didn’t increase the speed at the back end of the stroke. I thought at the time that comment may have surprised you?

Slow to fast. Rock, don’t roll. Front quadrant. Eight words. I can work with that.

I am now in the 65+ AG and have picked up a number of ideas from yourself. This has allowed me to stay in the top 30-40% of all ages in triathlon races. My last 70.3 2 weeks ago I concentrated on a couple of your core swimming elements and got out at the 35th percentile including pros and all AGers (1250 racing). I felt very fresh and comfortable. I will continue to work on these techniques. Thks.

Is it only me or are your legs are moving also in a certain rythme ? Your rythme is increasing with each pull?
@maisetasКүн бұрын
i mean 60 strokes per minute is still a high rate. i am triathlete and i do swim in around 48 strokes per minute in open water and like 44 in a swimming pool.

Pull back until your hand/palm starts to push upwards. At that point don't press upwards with the hand. Straighten the hand ✋️ like this, but sideways so you don't press water upwards

I have no rhythm on the dance floor, but my swimming is coming along. Swim 3 times per week and you will improve 💪🏼

Is there any advantage to not breathing bilaterally? I worked very hard to develop this habit, can swim fairly long distances per workout (2-3 miles pool swim) and feel guilty later in the swim when I transition to mostly breathing on one (the right) side.
@avibhagan5 сағат бұрын
maybe I can help. Practice swimming by breathing to face one side of the pool. So you will go up, breathing on the right, and then come down breathing on the left. (For life saving. I practice my side stroke, like this too) Do that for a few weeks, and then go back to breathing on odd numbers of strokes 3-5-7.

One thing I keep seeing is spread fingers on entry for whoever the demonstration swimmer is. Is there any need to spread your fingers on entry? Or is it just like a personal habit?

I learnt a lot from this channel . From one cannot swim now I can swim 1k or more in freestyle & breaststroke. Now I can sprint too. I started swimming in February 2023. Not more than 1 & half year 😅😅

The thing I find absolutely the hardest is relaxing. When I relax I swim soooo much faster. Telling myself to relax my chest and breathing:shoulders whilst stretching out and keeping kind of taught is something I find incredibly difficult.

Excellent demonstration of how to communicate: a clear focus on what you deliver, no wasted words and good judgement of what the learner can absorb.

I don't want to take away from this swimmers majestic world breaking super hero legendary swim status. He's one of the best on the planet. However i wanted to add some realism to the hype. 1:16/100m was the pace of the swim across the Cook Straight, 22km in 4:33:50. = 1:16.8/100m. I'm wondering how much of that is to currents, wind and wetsuits. I'm just trying to suggest that novices like myself don't jump in the pool, struggle to hit 1:16 pace even for 25 meters and make direct comparisons. Andy is a world class swimmer but probably also a very smart guy with a strategy to picking the optimum and fastest way to swim the Cook Straight.
