It's just landscape guys coming in out of the field and then to the house for the next 5 months.... The landscape world is a rough business to succeed in.

I run a plumbing business and watch Mike, actually watched him for a while now. He is definitely spot on and smart at the "home service" game in general, not just landscaping. Every home service business out there should watch Mike! 💲

@ I’ve recommended him to my boss. But he didn’t understand, turned around and said, if you did your job correctly, I would be loosing money. 🤯🤯🤯 I laughed at him and told him to plan better! 🤛

Awesome video! I know that Blue Collar Summit will have strategies to make Q4 more profitable. I cannot afford to go currently but will there be a recorded version of the weekend at potentially a cheap price after that i could buy? My plan is to have my first 2 employees next year and I want to be able to provide them a position over the winter months. Thank you!

A bucket is 5-8x more effecient than a shovel not 2x, and a wheel barrow believe it or not is up to 50x faster. So correct thinking in general, but clearly Sir its been a while since you actually used a shovel. Thank you for the video regardless.

Let’s adjust the scenario for triple-ground mulch, which is lighter and easier to handle than soil or gravel. Scenario: - Material: Triple-ground mulch - Distance to move material: 30 feet - Quantity: 1 cubic yard (approximately 600 pounds or 27 cubic feet) Efficiency Comparison: 1. 5-Gallon Bucket - Capacity: ~0.67 cubic feet per trip - Trips required: 27 ÷ 0.67 ≈ 40 trips - Time per trip: 25 seconds (fill bucket, carry, dump) - Total time: 40 × 25 seconds ≈ 16.7 minutes 2. Spade Shovel - Capacity: ~0.1 cubic feet per scoop - Scoops to fill a bucket: ~7 - Scoops to move 1 cubic yard: 27 ÷ 0.1 ≈ 270 scoops - Time per scoop: 4 seconds (scoop, carry a few feet, dump) - Total time: 270 × 4 seconds ≈ 18 minutes 3. Regular Wheelbarrow - Capacity: ~6 cubic feet per trip - Trips required: 27 ÷ 6 ≈ 5 trips - Time per trip: 90 seconds (fill, push, dump, return) - Total time: 5 × 90 seconds ≈ 7.5 minutes Observations: - The wheelbarrow remains the most efficient tool by far, being more than twice as fast as a bucket and 2-3 times faster than a shovel. - The bucket is slightly faster than a shovel for moving mulch due to easier handling and fewer scoops needed per trip. - The claim that a wheelbarrow is 50 times faster is still exaggerated, but the wheelbarrow is clearly the superior choice for efficiency. In this case, the bucket and shovel are fairly close in efficiency for smaller quantities, but both fall behind the wheelbarrow significantly for larger tasks.

Mike, do you think theres a market to help smaller home service businesses such as lawn care set up their tech stack (automated texting, CRM, landing pages, etc...)? I heard you mention it being a big bottleneck in one of your other videos.

If the new franchise makes $500k in a year what can the owner expect to gross in personal income?
@MikeAndes
@MikeAndes Ай бұрын
If they grow very fast from $0, there will likely be minimal take home pay. The goal is to switch to profit mode and raise prices consistently after hitting $500K. Over the course of 3 years get revenues to $800K without buying more trucks or hiring more people.
@BonsaiBuckeye
@BonsaiBuckeye Ай бұрын
Without an existing book of work in a particular area it will be next to impossible to generate 500k in an initial year in revenue without some sort of team behind you; salespersons, clerical. I think the idea is until you are able to hire 5 to 10 employees you will be taking a $40,000 a year salary just like any other job... The major differences you'll be working 100 hours a week to try and get your business off the ground. And then to 10% chance it succeeds that's an awesome endeavor and you've made a hell of a an accomplishment but for the vast majority of the world this is a losing endeavor.

This guy's story doesn't add up. His claim of having so many locations seem more like franchises rather businesses he owns. Franchises don't really care if the end investor succeeds or not. I think this guy is more of a successful franchise seller than an actual business owner.
