8.6 Blackout Ammo I have tested! eaglerun23.com/blog/f/the-big-ammo-list

I have several BCA uppers. I did have to replace the bolt on a 308 upper, though really, I probably would have been okay with just new gas rings. Also had the extractor break on a 7.62x39 bolt. I emailed them and they sent me a free replacement. 6.5 Grendal 18 inch stainless is heavy but looks and shoots beautifully. No terribly dramatic issues. Thank you for calling out the SHTF obsession. These are all range toys... a cheap way to try lots of calibers. I think they fill a niche and do it well. And BCA KZbin lady is cute!

I've had a 7.62x39 AR for about 9 years and have been through 6 extractors, so it's not just a BCA thing.
@bmunat7 күн бұрын
@kr3wz89 yeah I've read that the case width really is too wide for an AR-15 size bolt. It should be AR-10 size... at least the bolt face. I should probably just buy a few extractors and keep them on hand.

I have two Bear Creek rear charging uppers. First a 556 18" fluted heavy stainless barrel 1" groups at 100 yards. Second is a 18" 450 Bushmaster that shoots very accurate as well. GREAT upper for black bears and Whitetail in Maine. You nailed it with your comment "I'm not taking it into a battle".

I am a sucker for cheap accurate ARs. I run everything suppressed so the BCA side charging uppers are great. Turn off the gas and it is a straight pull bolt gun when running subs. I now have 2 300 blks, 1 8.6 blk, 1 6.5 Grendel and a couple of 556s. The Grendel would not shoot a 4” group. BCA replaced it and the new one shoots MOA with wolf and Hornady. Oh also have a BCA 450.

I have a gen2 side charging 7.62x39 and got it when they first offered it I'd say about five years ago I think. But yeah,I bring that with me every time I go to the range which is about once a month and it's ran perfect, it kinda gets run hard too. I'd say close to 2000 rounds through it. The only bad thing I have to say is there was a little bit of play between the upper and lower but that's to be expected.

You should watch all the videos of the 3k Daniel Defenses not working.. If you haven't watched the torture test on here of the bear creek guns. They work just fine and will work just fine in war. all you have to do is take it apart clean it up and make sure everything is tight. The AR isn't some super complicated gun that has to be 100000 dollars or its not going to work in war. What a rediculous statement to even make.. let me guess you cant use a 22 in self defense.. lets see you take a 22 round to the face then also

I'm curious as to how it lasts as a BCA gun. I think that's really the question people have. Once you start changing the barrel, BCG, & trigger, you really have another type gun. I get it may be an idea for a base for a build, but then once you buy replacement parts, it may have been better to just buy another brand gun in a higher tier. Can you keep up with all the total cost and let us know? #curious Fun video btw.

@@EagleRun23 Good points sir. You're right. I guess other than lower, upper, and maybe forearm, every rifle is an amalgamation of many manufacturers. @EagleRun23 that's always been my issue with 8.6 early on... the mainstream ar10s are HEAVY. Modern military Onnes are even worse. Hardly anyone makes an AR10 with the weight and balance of the original designs which were only half a lb heavier than the modern m4. Someone needs to do for the AR10, what the WWSD project did for the AR15. But 2 versions are needed: a simple full sized non adjustable stock lower, and a small frame, pdw type lower (ie: short tube with a built in set of slots for a pdw style brace or stock. All in carbon or glass filled high impact, super rigid form of nylon. Maybe make it SFAR or POF compatible... 🤷♂️

People hate on BCA because the company is owned by criminals. They were formerly Moore Machine Company that produced hot garbage, stiffed a lot of companies on contract orders causing those companies to fold, then were busted by ICE for using illegal workers they didn't pay. None of this is fodder or lore, it's fact. It's all out in the open in legal documents. They closed down for a few years then reopened as Bear Creek Arsenal, same address, same owners. Good on them for getting their act together, but I'll never support them as they screwed over a number of people in the industry that I'm friends with.

Their history as MMC goes back to the late 2000's in to early 2010's. Bunch of old threads on ARFCOM about them. Their stuff was out of spec garbage. Even barrel bores that didn't match the chamber, non-existent gas ports or the port on the wrong side of the barrel. They shipped this crap to vendors that obviously couldn't sell it.
