Shit. I just bought this online. Didnt get it yet. Didnt realize 4K is only from HMDI. that's very misleading. The lack of SDI splitter really sucks too. I now have to go from camera HDMI out to monitor and SDI out to transmitter.

@AnotherCameraChannel Hmm, would the Cosmo C1 be a better option then? Since I believe it has a supplier option
@AnotherCameraChannel13 күн бұрын
@michaelfrymus Just checked another review for you. C1 is still HD only, the TX has HDMI in, SDI in, and an SDI loop Out. But only the SDI signal comes out of the SDI loop out, not HDMI. From what I gather it's only a 1TX, 1 RX system and I don't see anyone mentioning it working with the Hollyview app which the Mars and Pyro systems benefit from. Unfortunately, if you're looking for 4K over SDI I don't believe Hollyland make this yet.
@michaelfrymus13 күн бұрын
@@AnotherCameraChannel yeah, just saw another video talking about that. Looks like I'll have to stick with HDMI. Then again, most often I'd be using a tablet to view. The issue in having now is speed. My current camera is HDMI out. My monitor has HDMI in/out, and SDI in/out. So, if I want the fastest transmission and best quality, seems as though I'll need to plug HDMI from camera to transmitter, and then out to the monitor? - If that's the case, then I might swap to the Pyro H. If I plug camera to monitor via HDMI and out to transmitter via HDMI or SDI and the speed doesn't change much, I might as well just keep what I ordered.
@AnotherCameraChannel13 күн бұрын
@@michaelfrymus Yeah Pyro H seems like the best option then, and it's also the cheapest of the Pyro Line, but is the only device with USB-C power options which is a nice bonus. I have a review of all the Pyros including the Pyro 7 on this channel also if you wanted to see that.

I'd like a 150c. The led lights are so much more powerful nowadays that you don't necessarily need a 300W fixture
@daleelliott739021 күн бұрын
This 80C's output is only slightly less than the aputure 300x in terms of lux and foot candles so a 150C would presumably have significantly more output than a 300x so it's pretty remarkable how efficient they've gotten.

That was my initial thought. Then I remembered that the 1200x BLAIR had a higher output than the 1200d. So, I guess I'll wait wait until I see output numbers. If it's less than 2/3 the output of the 300c in white and RGB, then it's not worth it in my book.

@@B-Moye or you could just get the Aputure amaran 300c for less sure it’s bigger but it’s also more powerful, without the spot feature that the 60x has it’s not much of a comparison or draw for me.
@AnotherCameraChannel27 күн бұрын
@lemnisgate8809 the 300C has no CRMX, no DMX. :( And when I turned them on side by side, the colours aren’t the same which was interesting. The Storm line up is superior for sure, if you need the features it provides. I personally need CRMX now in my work, I didn’t buy more 300Cs for this reason. I believe the 300C is still brighter but it’s not built like the 80c. No IP rating etc etc Tools for different jobs :) But I’m sure there’ll be some middle sized fixtures in STORM which will beat out the 300C even in output. 👍
@AnotherCameraChannel27 күн бұрын
Probably the cost of CRMX alone is like 100$ so I think it’s reasonably priced, but of course I do wish the price could be lower though!
@olindamedia27 күн бұрын
Just theory as I have not heard from Aputure but I'm thinking that the 1200x v 1000c difference might be down to a decision to keep the overall chip size the same so that modifiers are interchangeable. Perhaps a simplified emitter pattern on the BLAIR versus BLAIR-CG chip meant they could pack more emitters/wattage onto the same surface area for the 1200x

Yes it does. As long as the barn doors are not on the CF12, the foam can be rearranged inside the case to make the 1000c with the CF12 mounted fit inside of the case.

Great videos. Three quick comments. - The reflector is 35° (hence the numbers). - The CF4 Barn Doors can hold a 5” scrim (that’s the reason for the clip you play with in the video). - There is indeed a new Spotlight in the works for the 80c.

With your comment about sometimes a color fixture is too saturated...well, having deep saturation is handy when there is light pollution that will mix and desaturate your color. So by having more saturated colors, it can fight the pollution better, to get closer to your desired result.

Depends on what you need, if you're a videographer, a DP, a rental house, or an owner-op gaffer, and also what the rest of your lighting inventory looks like. They are different tools that fulfill different needs. If you need a bright, deep blue wash over your background, gels on the 1200x might not get you what you want. If you're lighting from outside, through a window, and you want strong "sunlight" streaming in, the 600C Pro II might not have the punch you want. If you're trying to own just one big light, that's a choice only you can make based on what you need the most right now. If you're adding to your inventory, you could consider getting both. I own a 1200D but find myself needing that AND something in the 600 range and have worked with rented 600C's quite a bit lately, so I may pick one up. Another way of looking at it - keep doing whatever work you do, and feel out where the pain points and limitations are. After enough shoots, you'll know what you're always saying you wish you had on hand. OR, if people are renting your gear, you'll know what most often gets requested that you don't have. That will inform you MUCH better on what to buy than any rando's KZbin comment.

@@AnotherCameraChannel What??? Yes in terms of quality and output but for one man run and gun situations it is wayyyy too big and cumbersome!
@AnotherCameraChannel2 ай бұрын
@@LukeSchaeferFilms it’s not *that* much bigger than a 600 really. It’s a bit heavier and the case is only a bit taller so moving it around isn’t too different. It would require a Combo stand over a C-stand so that’s true that that’s a more cumbersome item. However with the other new Storm lineup coming soon, there should be smaller fixtures than 1200, so buying any of these right now is probably a bad idea. Better to wait a little bit more and benefit from the better mount, better colour/flexibility options, better output etc. if the question is purely investment, right now 1200X for sure.
