Sir i has completed my UG in Political Science and history. And as i was preparing for defence exams also completed my Pg in political Science. Bt i couldn't pass through SSB . So i thought to go for MBA to widen the scope for Jobs in private sector ...So i gave the entrance exam of a managment clg *IMS Unison* i cleared their exam and gave personal interview to them and got selected..sir I am good in quant and reasoning (CDS level) and i have also done Diploma in Server Managment , Networking and hardware ..So can i go for specialization in Business analyst and finance ( they are providing us 2 specialization one major and another minor)..At placement time do you think i can get any problem in these specialization ..I am too intrested to opt these as specialization...could u plz comment on this bcz i am too confused...

Ya, you can do it - Managerial position comes with time and experience, not immediately after any degree. But, yes this will equip you to reach your destination.

You can definitely do it, background is not a concern. But you will have to work hard for language because english is a substantial portion in CAT as well. I think you should give 6-8 months of dedicated preparation with an extra emphasis on the verbal section.

Basic math you would definitely require to clear the MBA entrance exams but after that you can choose specializations which are non quantitative such as HR, Marketing, Strategy. But I still feel without a little analytical knowledge, it’s difficult to succeed. However this can be achieved during the MBA program. So, the main hurdle is to get into a b-school first.

Sir my life after 12th is a complete rollercoaster..i gave neet but couldn't crack after 2 drop years ,then i take admission in college but due to some reasons i have to take BA English literature as a graduation.. currently i am final year student.. i don't know what to do further in future...Now i am thinking to give a try for MBA with 100% hardwork..but i have so many doubts ki krna chahiye ya nhi..mental health is taking toll on me.. please sir guid me please..

@@pushpa-df6nf from arts to MIM, definitely she will have some challenges in quantitative courses, but she can steer her career towards marketing and focus in marketing electives. Tell her to do some fundamental courses in quant and finance before she will join the program. It will help her to navigate those challenges. These 20month of work experience we get in isb campus itself and live in isb hostel or we have to go somewhere and find job for work ex ???

Work experience has nothing to do with ISB. You will only get an admission if you clear the YLP process. After finishing college, you have to find employment and work for 20 months, and then you will join the ISB PGP MBA program.

For fall 2024, which is Aug/Sep, you are a little late if you haven’t give any exam. Because round 2 is going on and as an international student, you should apply by round 2 or max by Round 3. So you should have a score by Feb mid and prepare your applications simultaneously.

For Fall 2025 (Aug 2025), the applications will start from July 2024 and round 1 ends around Sep/Oct. If you are trageting fall 2025, then April 2024 is the right time for the GMAT exam.

You can pursue any degree during your Bachelors, and 90% of the US schools have no requirement of any STEM major. But you need to have a minimum 2 years experience. The class average experience is typically 4-5 years.

it's definitely a great choice, but you should be good in basic maths, data analysis, problem solving, etc. It is possible for humanities graduates to also become good consultants.

Yes you can, I don't think there is any problem. But you will have to work hard in some of the finance and quant courses, where commerce and engineering graduates might get ahead.

Indian colleges don't offer MIM programs. It's outside India only. In India, you can directly do the MBA.

For q1 - Since you will not have a college life, so it might impact co-curricular activities. But if you can really score high in CAT, then there should not be any problem For q2 - There are a few top colleges such as FMS Delhi, JL Bajaj Mumbai with a low fee and high ROI. But even if you will crack a top IIM, loans are easily avalable and you can repay them after MBA. For q3 - Yes, you can do MBA after 1 year of Bachelors, there is no harm in that.

ISB offers some scholarships based on the merit for early applicants, but still don't expect more than 30% of the total tuition fee

Don' worry, just because of your 12th grades, you won't face the rejection. Schools always look at your complete journey, so focus on Bachelors and the CAT/GMAT scores.

I can't tell you the exact text books, but there are degignated maths books for CAT, which you can easily find online or offline. That should be enough, if you spend 4-5 months everyday, you can do it !

What about Psychology and then MBA? Is it a good combination, I guess it is! What specialization would fit after Psychology as major? Also I believe that the psychological knowledge would be more helpful in coroporte fields as most of the sectors are people oriented, communication, negotiation etc...

It’s difficult to say because even after doing MIM from a top school, you will get a good career growth and you might not need an MBA. But if MBA is you definitely want to do, then ideally work for a few years and directly do that. Doing both is not an ideal way!

I think it’s too early to decide the MBA specialisation but definitely there will be a lot of options such as marketing, strategy, analytics, general management etc. you can decide this during your first year of the MBA
