I really did hate this version of Lex Luthor. Not long before I watched it I read the comic, "Forever Evil", where he was the main character and I thought it was pretty sweet. Not to mention, as a kid I thought he was great in the Superman 90's cartoon, and then later in the Justice League show. Also, I thought about how they could do the idea of him "having autistic traits" better. He should have been like the guy from Nightcrawler except rich. That guy was a blantant scumbag that nobody trusted, but it never mattered because he always had the perfect excuse or leverage ready to go. He was always flexing his intelligence, like Lex Luthor aught to. BvS Luthor never really did anything clever. Even then, I think it would be better if he was charismatic. Like if as far as the world is concerned, he's actually just a legitimate buisness man and he could convince the congress woman into being scared of Superman instead of being a brat and turning her against him. That's how he can lose to Superman and still be threatening. At the end of the day he's still a rich CEO, and he probably has other schemes going that Superman doesn't even know about. They should have given him a little more gravitas by having him be too slick to get caught at the end, and waiting for him to get his comeuppance in another movie. Since he has no powers, you really have to establish that his intelligence alone is something to be reckoned with.

Skynet was clever but not creative. That was always it's main issue. It was a military AI that underatood war as it was taught it to understood - by US military. So it struggled just like US military did against guerillas. It understood tabks, helicopters and inflitration. But it did not understand improvisation at all. It understood war as we knew war. It mever was.taught to understand it better or "imrpove it". IIRC it was originally a war gaming AI gone rogue, so it was desirable for it to only really know conventional warfare and nothing more. So it worked with what it had - bipedal soldiers, tanks, air support... The infiltrators were very rough around the edges before being perfected. In some media you have had slender girls etc. T-800 was probably limited by the virtue of being fairly early model built on skeleton frame of an already existing foot soldier model. But later models had custom frames. The T-800 like infiltrators stopped veing infiltrators fairly soon after being introduced for the reasons you mentioned and only really popped up on battlefields where their role was to infiltrate human forces and/or confuse them. It was most lukely sent to 1 and 2 as it was most rugged version of the infiltrator.

Also the terminators having zero tactical ability is addressed in the latest game. The game tells the player that their biggest weakness is that the units will ALWAYS go for the kill no matter what. Big plot twist, imagine if the enemy was created by the government to force the population in a constant state of war and fear 1984 style, this would make everything make so much more sense since they don't allow better technology to be mass produced yet there is always hope for victory with the outdated weaponry. This would make the entire war a farce for the powerful to kep their power while not allowing the majority any time to overthrow them. This would also help explain why nobody has seen the enemy, and why the enemy sends out the same enemies in waves rather than all at once.

I dont think so. Skynet would be created even if T-800 wasnt sent back in time, get destroyed to serve as basis for Skynet creation. It was after all reason why is T-1000 more advanced. So far so good. Problem is, even destroying T-800 and 'spare parts' at the end of Terminator 2, wont prevent creation of Skynet. They just 'reseted' timeline to its original state. Skynet will be created, T-800 will be created and sent back in time, because its catalyst that created resistance(John Connor) in the first place. Simply said, idea you can change the past to change present is stupid. And even then, its not like machines are losing. Humans are fighting back, but machines have clearly upper hand. All that effort to get rid of just one guy is silly.
