1.20.1 Broken. You can fix it by placing observer (8:20) facing into solid block which one is under the filler chest. Worked for me
@TheDeadkrow6 ай бұрын
Shot in the dark as it's been so long, but the dropper elevator keeps depositing items into the 2nd dropper quicker than it empties them; leaving 1-3 items behind that end up getting mis-sorted on the next loop. Any idea why this is happening?
@TheDeadkrow6 ай бұрын
it sounds like there are randomly some double-firings at the start, causing the rest to go out of sync. I have no idea what's causing it. I'm on Java and its just a test world before I try it on Realms
@TheDeadkrow6 ай бұрын
Increasing the repeater tick rate to the 3rd notch on the clock seems to have fixed it, though it runs a bit slower.
@metamilo5 ай бұрын
It's been a while but I think I remember having that issue at one point. My solution was to replace the top dropper with a hopper to limit the speed. Really you just need an extra hopper between the elevator and the slices
@TheDeadkrow5 ай бұрын
@@metamilo thanks for the reply! I actually have that setup already, weirdly the items were getting stuck in the second dropper of the chain though. I'm guessing it's having to do with Realms at this point
@FulanitoDTal-Lugar6 ай бұрын
Hi, all. I got it mostly working on Java 1.20.2. The one issue is that my items keep ending up in the bottom chest (not the filter chest) closest to the dropper tower. I made the version with the sticky pistons over the yellow track, and the proper piston contracts while the minecart is moving about, but the items dont end up in that column. I have the glass block at 4:30, so that's not the issue. Any ideas what could be misconfigured? I know it has to be something simple. I'm so close, I can feel it!

If you don't want or need the bottle crafting bit you can simply replace the crafter with a hopper and everything else will work the same.
@Questerer7 ай бұрын
I can see this being very useful on a server that has a shopping district. Other than that I wouldn’t want this because I like to get shulkers filled with the same potion.
@metamilo7 ай бұрын
Yeah, this isn't great at bulk brewing, I'm working on a version that can auto-fill shulkers.
@Jack_L7 ай бұрын
This is an interesting use of the crafter, using it to keep the versatility of having uncrafted items until they’re strictly needed. It’s the opposite of most of the applications of this block that I’ve been seeing, and I really like it. Also this is a really nice potion brewer!
@Zreknarf7 ай бұрын
indeed there are two major philosophies when it comes to autocrafting, I like to refer to them as "push" or "pull" systems, pushing until the final inventory is filled up or pulling only when the crafted item is needed. there are benefits and drawbacks to both, pull systems are generally harder to set up and there's a long crafting delay when you decide you need 10,000 bottles. push systems will give you the 10k bottles instantly when you need them but also you have no glass
@Zreknarf7 ай бұрын
it's true in real life too, referred to as just-in-time (pull) and just-in-case (push) manufacturing
@Zreknarf7 ай бұрын
for me personally I'd pretty much exclusively use push manufacturing in a survival world, since if I'm not going to craft 1000 of them it's not worth setting up the autocrafter. unfortunately the real world has gone full just-in-time manufacturing, because yes, it is more efficient and looks good for your bottom line, but that's why you have to wait 2 years to buy a new car and the world is ending when one boat gets stuck in one canal. /rant

There's possibly even another use when it comes to brewers. Systems like this need to pulse exactly 3 times to fill bottles otherwise you end up wasting resources and they have to be spaced enough for a hopper. It isn't easy to elegantly fit a triple pulse generator into these modules and keep it tileable. However, with the new crafter you can pulse as much as you want so long as you only craft once per cycle because the recipe creates exactly 3 bottles. It just works out nicely like that and could potentially help to simplify the system.
@Zreknarf7 ай бұрын
@metamilo yeah it's going to be fun to see the designs people come up with for things like logs > planks (1 pulse) > sticks (2 pulses) > ladders (1.1428571429 pulses) lol. nice brewer even without the crafter, never considered powdered snow to queue the ingredients. may try to modify this so it brews continuously using a trailing nether wart a la etho's original brewer
@TheRealWormbo7 ай бұрын
Neat design, although as someone with a raid farm, I'd probably just fill the dispenser with bottles and be done with it. Not sure if I ever uses a dispenser full of bottles worth of potions during the life time of any world.
@metamilo7 ай бұрын
You could also just replace the crafter with a hopper and you have a standard auto-brewer that doesn't craft items but takes bottles as input. Could be useful for people who have tones of bottles already. Also, the full dispenser only allows up to 64 potions before potentially breaking due to filled bottles being returned to the dispenser inventory.

For lava cauldrons without the need for a lava bucket, the easiest way would be to use command blocks with NBT data that sets the block itself to a lava cauldron as soon as it's placed. Since we can have items with custom models too now, it doesn't even need to look like a command block.
@metamilo7 ай бұрын
That's an interesting idea, I'll probably just stick with having the lava bucket though. Could see myself using it for something else though.

This was really fun! I learned a lot of new redstone mechanics that I didn't know existed, and I feel quite a bit more confident using and understanding repeaters and comparators. I did eventually give up on the last level though, but watching you do it makes it look so simple! But watch out, in Remote Control, you can softlock yourself under the iron trapdoor.

Still works fine in 1.20.1. I did have some problems with the returning speed, but I fixed it by placing a bucket of snow between the orange, dark blue and glass block at 3:39. You could also add cobweb instead, which makes it even slower, so then you could even remove the piston/observers system that slows the minecart down and let it return in full speed.
