The German people, culture, and history are old. Yet the German state is young. You could say that it was forged through diplomacy and war by Otto von Bismark during the 1860s. While some people will say that Germany's history is uniquely horrific. We should not forget that the sentiments that made it horrific are present in the past and present of most states in some form or another.

Thank you for being literally the only person who reacted to this for understanding what he was trying to explain in the whole “everything has already happened” part, everyone else just gets confused and is like “lmao what is he saying” haha

I know a LOT about science and i regularly think about human history and the history of the universe, and i have a few things to say. First off, this dude is SMART, like clearly he is intelligent, teaching a bunch of different subjects on a high school level, but even for that, this guy is CRAZY smart. Second off, yes, he teaches five subjects, and is not a master in all five, but as the full saying goes, "Jack of all trades, master of none, though oftentimes better than master of one"

The way time scale was once explained to me: "If the entire age of the universe was compressed into a single year, Earth formed around Thanksgiving and the ball began to drop on New Year's Eve about the time Humans and Neandertals coexisted." Fun trivia to throw at your class: ~ The Hittite Empire was long dismissed as fantasy (comparable to Atlantis) because the only evidence for it having ever existed was from The Bible. Until it was rediscovered by John Garstang, the first Professor of Archaeology at the University of Liverpool, in 1908. ~ The city-state of Troy was similarly dismissed as fantasy because the only evidence for it having ever existed was from Homer's Iliad. Until it was rediscovered by Heinrich Schliemann, an amateur archaeologist, in 1870. Ironically, the artifacts he claimed were from Troy were actually from a forgotten civilization ~1000 years older - he had literally blasted through multiple archaeological layers (including the actual Troy), believing that Troy had to be the oldest civilization on that site. ~ Mansa Musa was literally so rich that, during his famous Haj, he destroyed the economies of every land he passed through by buying too many souvenirs. ~ The lowest toll ever paid to use the Panama Canal was 28 cents; paid by Richard Halliburton, noted travel writer and amateur adventurer, who swam through the locks in 1928.

I've never understood why people want to go to America instead of Canada. Canada is similar to Europe in worker vacation and health care. The result of having a capitalist country where money is more important than people.

I love this analysis of "Deutchland". You're really trying to understand the meaning behind it. And that's the thing about Rammstein. Their lyrics always have a (or several) deeper meaning(s). In this case, it's the thousand and more, years of history Germany has endured. Most of Europe has, really. Here in Europe we're generally taught about most of these things in History classes. And there are many, many bits of information about it all, that has been either buried or forgotten. Europe is OLD..!! Anyways. Kudos for this video. I respect the curiosity. And the fact that you correctly translated most of it too. ;)

Ansonsten gefallen mir deine Vids sehr gut. Liebe Grüße aus Deutschland nach Schweden. (2x war ich bisher und Schweden, war super).

the black girl supposed to represent germany in all is part in history. He says we want to love you but also hate you . Because the past of Germany has been a shit hole ,yet is present is beautiful , because of this why he says so old yet so young , the old part is the bad part , the young and good part barely started in the 90s . when the priest where eating off that same black woman, it meant that religion at that time ate of the riches Germany had over the poor , the people trapped in the bottom of the table and where the powerful entity that controlled Germany
