I was delighted to see that easter egg kind of thing when exploring the Hoarfrost reach for the first time. And to be even more delighted when I see the prompt that you can get something out of it, and to put my delight to the most, our hunter MINED it, instead of crouching and rummaging like the usual "?" prompt. Just a beautiful way to remember Pokke village and Snowy Mountain.

I believe that the small corner in Ancient Forest is the only place outside the Guiding Lands that can spawn Giant Vigorwasps. I know for sure a Giant Vigorwasp spawns on the upper level of the Forest area in GL, but I only recently learned of that small section where Deviljho sleeps.

Several of these places have a very minor purpose: endemic life. The perch in Wildspire Waste is one of the few spots where a Blue Diva can appear, the secret wall pond in Coral Highlands is the map's Goldenfry habitat and one of the quicker ones to check if you're trying to find some Great Goldenfry, and the mountain peak of Hoarfrost Reach is the home of the illusive Wintermoon Nettle. I'm sure there's something I'm forgetting, but that's alright. I know not everyone cares about the critter collecting stuff, but to me it's a simple joy and a unique selling point of World.

Actually the Lynian Treasure Hunts and the Observation Logs given to you by the Lynian Researcher take you to a lot of these places, it's clear that with Iceborne the devs realized many people missed these spots for base World and so they made 2 distinct "mini games" that take you to them and it's just wonderful, even the wingdrakes start dropping you in some of these spots after patch 10.00 (the Iceborne patch) I personally found myself stumbling on a lot of these by shear accident while I did manual gathering for base World but I also didn't know about many others until Iceborne

About that hole in the wall of vines in the coral highlands. There's an animation that plays if you come in from the top and dodge downwards on the vines. That rocky peak in Wildspire Waste is also the spot where the unique Cactus for unlocking a new ingredient spawns. So unless you find this semi-hidden path, or get dumped there for the armorsphere outcrop, you could easily miss it and never find it without outside help. Same with the cave in the vine-wall in Coral Highlands, where the unique pearl spawn is located in an even more missable spot. And the Kushala skin on the Hoarfrost Reach peak is such a cool piece of continuity. We found one each on the Arctic Ridge and the Frozen Seaway, so either the shed skin has enough power to gradually change the surrounding climate or Kushala only molts in extremely cold places where it wouldn't necessarily live. It's so amazing that some of these locations are intended to be found but many others are just... there. Like actual nature.
@randomnpc445
@randomnpc445 Жыл бұрын
I don't know if it _only_ molts in cold places, but we know for sure that the climate doesn't change around the skin (or at least, it doesn't always) because the CGI movie that showcases a molting Kushala has it doing so on top of an already snowy mountain.
@oceanman7336
@oceanman7336 Жыл бұрын
For Kushala and other real life animals molting is a VERY vulnerable experience so its best to do so in a secluded space and the peak of icy mountains far enough to shed
@Dev.L
@Dev.L Жыл бұрын
Don't know if it's true or not, but I think Kushala prefers colder areas when molting because it helps their skin harden faster, after a fresh molt, when their most vulnerable. Can't recall where I remember hearing that, but might've been a "Hunter's Note" back in MH Portable 2nd G.

One of my favourite spots is in the Hoarfrost Reach, underground, near the hot spring. The location in itself isn't all that interesting, but what I like about it is that it's a regular stop for the Viper Tobi Kadachi that lives there, where it stops to warm up by the water and sometimes even have a lil' sippy. It'll notice you, but it's completely non-hostile, so you can just sit there and chill out with it for a while, keeping warm by the water. I've always liked how World specifically added monsters that aren't immediately hostile, unlike previous games. In those, every monster was immediately hostile to the player at all times, which made it feel very arcadey, like they're just another opponent to be fought. In World, the non-hostile monsters are proof that the wildlife are just... living there, regardless of your existence. It creates the sense that the life in the world exists beyond you and is part of some greater web of life which is mostly irreverent to you because you're just another small part of the world - insignificant, even, in the face of the creatures that live there. It really helps sell the authenticity of the environments as living, breathing places teeming with native beings of all shapes and sizes, from tiny endemic life to elder dragons. Incidentally, my favourite helm item is the tobi kadachi scarf.

Something that blew my mind when i discover it is that the Guiding Lands is actually Zora's Magdaros dead body,amazing how its shell became a entire ecosystem even for elder dragons,and make sense why to get Zora's master rank armor you have to collect some materials from that area spesifically.

As someone who put 1k hours into this game, I really adore the place it holds both in the Monster Hunter series, as well as in my personal heart. And these little touches that just seeped dedication to the theme really cemented this as my favourite Monster Hunter game (as of currently; maybe world 2 will be even more amazing). It also helps that the game came out after I'd taken a pretty long break from MH (skipped 4th gen almost entirely and just played generations up until HR 150 or something like that), and the amount of love and care put into just about every part of the game got me reinvested. These hidden corners are the exact concept in the game that drew me in so much when I played the original MH1 on PS2 when I was a little kid. I wasn’t good enough to understand the game much and ran from most of the velociprey, but eventually found area 12 in the forest and hills where I managed to kill the lone bullfango, then just chilled out fishing and enjoying the hidden spring in the woods. At that point in my life that was the most beautiful thing I’d seen in a video game and most closely captured the real natural beauty of a quiet peaceful spot in nature.

It's precisely the work that went into the immersion that made me hate monsters like Alatreon etc in the later updates. The fights seem so rigid, so scripted, so antithetical to the entire rest of the game. It rips you right out. They don't fit anywhere, interact with anything, and the way you fight them becomes ever more prescriptive from one to the next. I loved the work that went into tying the environment and the monsters and the fights together in this game. I honestly spent half of the game just exploring and befriending cats and collecting pets, taking photos, etc, and the other half actually finishing the game, because it is so beautiful.

I have about 1300 hours in this game, about 250-300 of them have been me exploring the maps catching all the rare endemic life within the game and along the way, i have found all of these locations. This game has so much to see and I do not regret a single second of it. Also that tall perch in the Wildspire Waste has a very slim chance to spawn the ever elusive Blue Diva. And you can travel higher at the very top of the Hoarfrost Reach where that Kushala shed skin is and you'll not only get probably the best view in the game, but a small chance that the just as elusive Wintermoon Nettle can spawn, but only when certain whether conditions are met and at a certain time of day which i believe was dawn. I love this game and i really do hope that Capcom hears us when we say the next Monster Hunter game needs to be of this levels. I NEED TO BE ABLE TO CAPTURE MORE ENDEMIC LIFE AND KEEP THEM AS PETS.

The one proposing to a girl with a leaf.umbrella... There are so many details in this game that easy to just miss... It crazy... Great video 🥰🥰

The Coral Highlands glowing cave was totally news to me! And the Hoarfrost reach Kushala skin is probably just a nod to fans who know the dragon sheds its skin on the highest peaks on mountains (Snowy Mountains iykyk)

I feel like a lot of the treasure spots could arguably qualify as hidden corners as well: when going through those lines, i am struck both by the fascinating story each tribe's treasure tips tell, but also by the previously unexplored corners of the map, where the tailraider tribes hide their treasure.

I'm in the middle of my first MHFU playthrough where I've seen a Kushala skin in a mountain region, and discovering that Capcom has put a similar one in the world truly made my day.

The Kushala Daora skin could actually be a really cool reference to MHFU, because you can find one too at the peak of the snow mountains on that game.

As a player with +900hrs in the game i have something to add with love :) First of all: may contain some spoilers, be carefull; also, you probably know this if you do the photo and treasure stuff, so, please play and get some fun‼ - 2:36 the giant vigorwasp place is the place where (SPOILERS FROM WITHCHER 3 EVENT) you meet gajalaka king - Also, there's a small place when you go down from the plato of the anja and ratha turf war, in the way of the kadachi nest, but you turn left before to be in the nest, you can go down, i always think there will be something special...but no, just a small chill place - 10:10 the daora skin is a reference to MH2: kushala daora usually changes skin in arctic and snowy areas (nice MH2 scene and place), ALSO there's a reference in the ancient forest: the place of shaddy big trees where daora usually sit and chill, can be in reference MH2 kushala usually like to be in forest; also, in the movie MH legends of the guild, they atribute the elder dragons change some places: daora related with forest bioma - ALSO: 10:10 before to be with the skin, turn left and you can climb in a even higher place; i recomend to see that place with ZOOMASTER at night with clear weather, with abundance of Butterbur, A LOT of times ;) trust me, it takes me 200hrs game to see why~

I've visited all these because I was hunting for rare endemic life for the achievements~ You can actually go even further up after the Kushala husk and if you're lucky and it's night time and clear, you'll see a big rare jellyfish

If you jump off the cliff at the first coral highlands map, you can turn around and crawl through a tunnel that takes you to a scaffolding back to camp.

Such a great video, when I am on a map for the first time I do not hunt, I explore. I love finding these things. I have found most of these except the Kushala husk area. I think all of this is cool and adds to the lore of these places.

On one of my first (and forced) expeditions, an Anjanath interrupted the fishing tutorial and since I had already played Rise, I knew I wanted to kill him despite not even knowing he'd have artillery for my precious Gunlance. It was actually pretty arduous and during one of his nesting sessions he knocked be down there with the Giant Vigorwasp and even begun to shove himself through one of the few openings, so I was actually pretty bamboozled but enthralled by such a multilayered area in a zone like that. World isn't my favorite but the map design may actually be up there.

Dang its been a few years since I played World, I should do that again. I'm going to list some places I remember finding and enjoying There's a small cave area in the Ancient Forest that I don't even know how to get to that I always enjoy stumbling upon There's two places in the Wildspire that I like. There's a stone obelisk with a bonepile on top, nearby that is a small cave high up on a ledge that i think just has a mining node. The Coral Highlands has a Lot of good locals. There's the big waterfall that leads to the Lynian camp, Theres also a small area that just spawns Coral birds that thought was really pretty but I cant remember where it was, but its easy to find the rare endemic life there. Rotten Vale has those two areas that Mosswine will span in one at the top and one at the bottom. The pond with goldfish at the bottom being a favorite. For Elders Recess I have very little but the room where you fight Nergigante has a very nice view. The Hoarfrost has a little ice shore that you can fish off of with some penguins. There's obviously the peak with the rare endemic life And then theres all the secrets found through the Lynian scholar and the Lynian quests themselves

I LOVE all these small areas I love that they're hidden, because it means you need to look for them, therefore meaning this is your reward for going out of the main routes and areas I really hope there will be other areas like that in MH6, because besides the small area on the south-west of the Citadel, there weren't really here in RS

Thank you for showing the beauty of monster hunter world to me, as a person who won't get to play this game for a long while if not never, and for someone who showed a lack of interest in this particular version because I grew up with the bright, colorful and saturated old gen graphics, and thought world was too dull for my liking, you've successfully changed my mind. I hope someday life stops being a bully and I'll actually get to play this game, even though I've always sucked at monster hunter, I am confident I can finish low rank at least

There's a cool secret spot in the training grounds at the top of one of the waterfalls in Rise. After I found that spot I started scouring the other maps to see if I could find any other spots.

yes i love this, and i love a lot of these areas too. the waterfall just before the forest in the Wildspire Waste is ooo underrated. its a great place to chill. The Ancient Forest spot at 2:50 and the Coral Highland spot at 7:35 are my favorite spots to just chill. im gonna have to check that other hidden hole spot in the Coral Highlands and vibe there a bit. Funny enough for me though the first area of the Hoarfrost Reach (while obviously not secret) is one of my favorite areas just cause i like the winter vibes. I'm definitly gonna have to check out more of each area though and make my own list for myself.

This is a bit late but in Elder's Recess, in the highest peak where kushala sleeps and bazelgeuse looks over the recess, the Gajalaka chief sometimes sleeps or praises the volcanic view which was very surprising. I have a screenshot of it I think.
