What a lovely thing to do - to make that beautiful wreath for your neighbor. Blessings to you from West Devon, and Jilly & Madge the rescue greyhound (her racing name was Devil's Magic - thankfully Poole racetrack where she raced, is now permanently closed) xxx

The broom doesn't look too stable. Might consider a pushbroom instead, as it would have better directional control.

I need to issue a few corrections to your demonstration and explanation of batairacht: 1. The styles you showed (antrim bata and doyle, respectively) are, according to the people who claim to be their progenators, NOT reconstructive, but rather traditional, having been passed down from generation to generation up to the present day. 2. You completely fucked up each style. Im not gonna sugar coat it, you got both completely fucking wrong. If you're doing antrim bata (the one where you hold the stick a third of the way up,) you hold it with the knob end up. You know, the end that looks like it was specifically made to hit people? Yeah that's gonna go TOWARDS the sky, not away from it. And they DO NOT LITERALLY PUNCH WITH THE STICK in doyle style. They strike with the stick! Theres this video called "the man reviving irish stick fighting" on youtube. Just look it up and you'll see what i mean. I know you didn't really watch the videos you saw... Which is a massive problem, whyd you not do that?

The grant is to encourage people to sell properties that are vacant. It's not for the buyers per say. You'll see this as the cost of these properties has risen by €70,000 and they all mention the grant.

Thanks for this informative video! I went to Ireland for the first time recently and found my family’s derelict cottage. Now I am fantasizing about buying it and renovating it! Just gotta wait for a lot of money to magically appear. ☺️

My ass went to the website 😂 "Our Irish Breakfast Tea is an invigorating blend of high-grown Assam and Darjeeling teas. Harvested in India, its strong flavor is best complemented by the addition of milk." My brain is like it's an Irish company the o.g. importers and a direct competitor to English breakfast tea.... all I can say is pot shots taken off the port bow captain. Tea party politics indeed. 😂

The local councils and governments should be bending over backwards to get people into these old properties and bring them back to life. You can't have a town or village without people, and people needs homes.

I am Canadian with Irish ancestry on my mom's side. I think a lot of diaspora populations, particularly in the Anglosphere, claim their heritage as an identity. Even growing up their were a lot of ethnic cliques. This is not unique to the Irish, you also have Italian diaspora, Portuguese, etc., there is a lot of ethno-centric culture in the west so people take a lot of stock in cultural heritage. As for Biden's jail comment I think that was more geared to Irish Americans. Having traveled to Ireland, I found the irish people to be "pussy cats" (not trying to be offensive), but Irish diaspora, that in particular the ones in the USA are heavily involved in organized crime. As well as a lot of these communities hold their organized crime syndicates in high esteem, so that is what I think the president was alluding too.

I have never been able to find turnips that large in the USA. Instead I have to use rutabagas. I believe the UK call them "swedes". A turnip in the US is more radish like. A rutabaga is more cabbage like. Both make great lanterns but a USA turnip is only a quarter of the size you are using.

What makes me sad, angry, and frustrated is that these homes are allowed to fall to ruin and then they are prohibitively expensive for ordinary people to bring them back into use. IF they had been looked after by the people who inherited them - or given to those who were interested, they could easily have been saved. But sadly, in too many cases, it seems to be a case of, ''I won't use it, but you won't either.'' So selfish!
