Another aspect is audience comprehension. We are bipedal creatures, so seeing a large vehicle slowly stomp forward gives an almost universal understanding of imposing weight. On the flip side, seeing things float generally gives a sense of weightlessness. That, combined with a large, slow moving vehicle, is somewhat hard to understand. In essence, it’s the same reason movies use slower, thumpy noises for rotary guns on jets instead of the actual brrrrrrt.

The tabletop game, Star Wars Armada, sort of actually expands on the GR-75's lore. One picture on one card shows a GR refueling a star ship, another mentions it serving as a command vessel or bomber support. I also believe it could serve as electronic warfare, which would give more justifications to be alongside other capital ships during battle, as they could jam Imperial targeting and scanners.

I really enjoyed this video, but I'd would've liked it if you had done a couple of the other fighters, like the TIE Defender or the Vulture Droid.

I always figured walkers were designed by special effects people who thought that they looked cool and didn't realize how much more effective tracked vehicles would be in combat. Let's face it, a main battle tank could sit behind a hill and lob 120 mm shells at these things all day without sticking its head up. The lower the profile, the better.

Aerodynamics? Dont you need air for something to be aerodynamic? Or am I missing something?

Love the content. As a Special Nerd I often play fantasy wars with my friends using Star Wars ships. I often modify redesign or build new star ships within reason as well. This is one of my favorite things. As I haven’t the tech or knowledge I can’t render my designs but I make basic physical prints. One of my favorites I hope you might agree is the original B wing. Heavy weapons on small craft. I designed a spice freighter like the Falcon and decimator to use a composite weapon system for capitol ship strikes and such. It makes more sense to turn one of those into a assault gun then the fighter tech wise.

With all this work and effort, you should be making your own universe of stuff! So much thought and this design is awesome!

NCC-1701 - 1701-B: A sturdy off-road vehicle with guns, made to ferry people on exploration missions and to defend them against the unknown hostiles that await them. NCC-1701-C - 1701-D: flagships intended to act as escort for VIPs, force projection on critical missions, conveyance and security for diplomatic envoys, and to facilitate large-scale evacuations and other planet-wide humanitarian efforts. They all have the same name, but their intended use cases are _parsecs_ apart.
