@gozney1987 yea you can, I should have done it that way to be fair, cus it was a pain in the arse to line the subframe up again, I don't normally have a problem.

Bloody hell mate, you've got a project and a half on your hands. That dash surprised me, never realised a Mk5 Astra dash would fit in there. Going to be a challenge getting the heater controls etc. to work. Same with the wiring loom in the engine bay and throughout the car. Look forward to updates and good luck getting it sorted!

My 2005 xc70 is the same and I'm wanting to do the same up grade. What year xc90 calipers and rotors should I get??

They are just mk1 xc90 2002-2012, you just have to make sure you buy the 336mm discs and caliper to suit, if you go on ebay then are usually listed as 336mm calipers.

What kind of bumper do you have on the v70? Looks like a v50 bumper and grille?

It's an 05-09 s60 face-lift front bumper with an MS look design front lip/spoiler

@maartengiel if you have a face-lift v70 05-08 then it should fit straight on, I had to modify my crash bar because mine is a pre-face-lift

Shame about the spectator arrival organisation it was ridiculous, queued for over 2hrs because there was next to no traffic marshalling, to then be parked in a boggy field not even fit for cattle where people were getting stuck left right and centre, good show just not the right venue and poor planning on petrolheadanism' part

Me and my brother had a good look around your corsa, we were very impressed with it, absolutely mint and loads of factory options on it, like the headlight protectors, wind deflectors and the irmscher pedals 👍

@@samwel69 thanks! i have been keeping it in a carcoon and trying to press as best i can 🙏🏻 ☺️ next step for it is dry ice blasting to show just how clean it is underneath and then a clear coat of lanoguard or similar product 👌🏻

You're right. These engines are really strong, but this type of failure can happen to any engine, iv got a suspicion that something has blocked the oil gallery to that bearing.

its survived 42 year and for a French car from 82 its quite solid , if you have the time and money restore it she deserves a bit of love, my grandmothers " Boyfriend" had one of these e was a travelling rep for Rothmans it was a top spec model with leccy windows and a Auto gearbox, it impressed me as a little Lad who's Dad drove a dull Triumph Toledo it seemed quite exotic to me, it was a metallic Burgundy colour with a beige interior.

As much as i like to see the solara being saved i know that it doesn´t make any sense. It would be a project probably for years as rotten as it is. Just break it up and keep/sell the good parts.

It's easy for me to say, but I think it should be saved; these are so rare, especially in this trim spec. Lovely colours too. I just found your channel and was thrilled to find someone working on these Talbots.

Unfortunately Sam, I'd say, engine out, strip it and try flog the parts and scrap it, nobody probably want to save it, is it worth saving?

My grans was A509LRN, same colour but a more velour interior in beige, it had every no and button aaand lower front fogs. I rember going from cortina and p6s this was quiet smooth and comfy. This one maybe a parts car😢

I believe they are yamaha r1 carbs, but I bought them about 10 years ago, so I'm not 100% positive

No it bolts straight on, no worries, that car had an ihi rhb4, but there are much better options
