i would have thought that is the izuzu engine , i have heard thay are a very strong / bullet proff engine ??????? . i remember when these first came out thay blow a lot of fast car`s away i think thay did 117mph

Ok, so got the new turbo on my mk3 astra, and would you think that i've got two problems. First, the manifold is warped and i have to take it off and reweld it. Second, my turbo makes barely any boost over 3500rpm, and at idle it makes vacuum. Do you have any idea why?

Why have you welded the manifold? The not boosting sounds like you need to turn the fuel up

@@samwel69 didn't weld it, i bought it like that. My concern is the vacuum from turbo at idle. As well as my intercooler hose being flat once it reaches 2000 rpm.

@@georgecipriangiurcan1381 for there to be vacuum, there must be a restriction somewhere, I would have it running and then remove the boost pipes one be one until the restriction goes away

@@samwel69 thanks mate, i was just thinking about a restriction right on the turbo's cold side. I didn't grind that gearbox part you did and it might obstruct that 90° turn to the air filter. Will trym

@@samwel69 ok, so I guess i found the problem. I might have some intercooler hoses that got too soft to do the job. I disconnected the turbo to intercooler hoses and the turbo seems to push air out, but it can't reach the intercooler at the same rate so the engine tries to suck more air and ends up collapsing the hoses. Is that right ?
