6:1 that's half bag cement is a buckets that's strong mix that's 3:1 mix 3 🪣 sand 1 🪣 cement. Bucket should be standard 15 L. Well said water the enemy of mortar the less the better.

After laying our brick we strike brush sponge then strike again. That's the best way we found to keep our brick clean. It sucks. Sponging but it works really well
