She said "If you listened and did what I did in the last video (Why I am making this comment), you will be able to move the head." But... I am still not able to. Anyone know what the issue could be? Someone said it could be a mesh not being set up to be deformed or something, but I don't see where to set that up.

Hey, I wanted to ask you something about your 3d modeling class for VRC character models: Would you reocmmend downgrading to Blender 3.3.1 because I'd like to learn Blender itself too, so I'd rather use Blender 4.3.2 and Blender 3.3.1 is a bit outdated, but the cats plugin is now unmaintained for years and I am not quite sure if this one alternative to it is safe. So, are you still using Blender 3.3.1 or did you upgrade and remove cats or did you install an alternative to it? Thank you :)

I was building a model for vtubing and after 180 hours of building and learning something went wrong somwhere and i couldn't connect my head to the body. I was following a tutorial from a different channel. Im hoping this will not only be easier (as its more up to date than the last channel) but you explain everything much more thoroughly. A beginner friendly way.!

Is it possible to keep the separate elements such as teeth, eyebrows and tongue as separate meshes while creating and assigning the shape keys or do you have to join the meshes to have them move under the same shapekey?

So far, the tutorial still works for blender 4.2. Some context menu things are different, but a quick google search usually answers where things are. I'm using one of my own character refs for this project, and it works fine aside from me having to model the feet separately and then join them, but that wasn't too difficult to figure out.

For the users who are experiencing issues with Cats, please do not listen to any of the other comments re the so called "testing" fix as you will have further issues. Hey- dunno where else to post this, but if you ever decide to make another tutorial, I think it'd be helpful to only have the "editing notes" section (located above your Vtuber's head) show up when a note is displayed. Maybe also an accompanying (small, quiet) sound effect. It's easy to miss notes when the text isn't visually highlighted.
