@ouritalianadventures619017 күн бұрын
Oh that was a big discussion for a long time. In the end we decided to put the pizza/bread oven on the new terrace next to the grill. We thought we would use it more on the terrace when we are entertaining outside. That project will hopefully start late spring/early summer.

Beautiful views and definitely a unique place to live. Not to be picky but I expected the common area to be a lot nicer, like a garden area. Not a necessity but would be much more charming and make it a place for neighbors to meet and socialize. Needs work but it’s very cool. I could make it work. lol

I think it wasn't so clean because most of the tenants weren't there. I don't know for sure but it seemed like a summer retreat to me. Also I thought it would be a great opportunity to do something nice since no one else seemed to really care.

Bellissimo! Stunning home in a fortified castle that hasn't been butchered (too much) by 1970s tasteless renovation. After a bit of research, I found out that this castle dates back to the 11th century, with major renovation in the 17th century. What a history! Thank you for this wonderful tour.

It was beautiful yes before it was allowed to fall into decay and ruin from years of neglect! Let’s be honest here, it is very dangerous and I would not trust it to not cave in on itself! The actual rot is evident from the entrance! Just shameful as it looks like it may have been housing for priest via the picture.
@ouritalianadventures619017 күн бұрын
I wouldn't say it was dangerous at all. It was very solid and in good condition for it's age. I have seen places that were way worse. I just think it needs a little TLC and it would be great.

WOW , beautiful, that ceiling needs to be sprayed with Kilz , it is a mold paint. Thank you for the share.
@nicolaxoxo1Ай бұрын
No, never paint over mold (even with Kilz) paint is food for mold, it will eventually eat thru. You need to 1) find the source(s) of water intrusion and fix them…..2) certain molds are highly toxic and it’s nice to know what you are dealing with by professional mold testing via lab 3) best to hire a licensed professional remediation company The mold you see is most often just the tip of the iceberg. Don’t underestimate the dangers of mold to your heath….ask me how I know 😢
@ouritalianadventures619017 күн бұрын
Yeah, sadly mold is a real issue here in Italy but not like American. I can't quite figure out the difference. It seems to clean up somewhat easy here.

The thought of an apartment in an old castle is delicious. Sadly no one is taking care of the building outside. The inside is full of water damage and mould, very unhealthy and hard to fix. So sad. It will cost you double the cost of the apartment to fix it up.
@ouritalianadventures619017 күн бұрын
It's actually not hard to clean mold here. I think it's because of the humidity and ventilation but since it's not sheet rock, you can spray a household cleaner and clean it up. I had that issue in my cantina and ended up just running a fan on low to keep the air moving and so far so good.

Good god are ya'll serious? I live in the Appalachian mountains in Virginia (elite hillbillies in Virginia), and your mountains have no trees and everything else is crumbling and depressing, and some of this is down right scary! My veiw on my mountain is gorgeous compared to this place! 😮
@ouritalianadventures619017 күн бұрын
Well, I grew up in the Appalachian mountains (not the elite area) and I have to say that this area of Italy is very similar. The trees are different but the landscape and the views are really beautiful. Keep in mind, this area has century old buildings compare to America where things are only a couple hundred years old. To each his own, that is what makes the world go round.

Where do you part your car??? needs lots of work and refurbishing. Those fresco’s would be really expensive. Otherwise it’s great. I see nothing wrong with the kitchen. Why is there all that repair to the walls and need to get rid of the mold so how’s the roof?
@ouritalianadventures619017 күн бұрын
I don't know if I understood correctly but I think you can drive right up to the entrance is you live there. If not, it's a bit of a walk from the public parking area where I parked. Not too bad but it was a walk. Mold is very common in Italy but can be cleaned up easy not as bad as it is with sheetrock. I don't really know how expensive it would be to repair frescos but I would think it would be a little pricey since it's such a specialized talent. From my drone shots, the roof seemed okay but I'm not an expert.

@nicolaxoxo1Ай бұрын
Water intrusion and humidity = perfect conditions for mold growth
@ellacarson204826 күн бұрын
That’s what other channels have said. The air circulation must be maintained or mold will form in stone buildings
@ouritalianadventures619017 күн бұрын
Yes, both comments are correct. It's very common here from the humidity. We fight it in our little house from all the stone. A contractor in the states gave me the best tip when we lived near the ocean and had issues. He said just buy a cheap fan and leave it on low to circulate the air. It works so well. I had to do it in our cantina to control the mold.
