Its frystrating that people can blame the dreamcast at all for the demise of sega consoles. If its that timeframe then the ps2 is at fault. If we are being serious, then sega is at fault starting in the mid 90s with the 32x and the saturn being released at the same time and dropping support very quickly. Sega killed sega. Sega japan killed sega all by itself. Sega japan tried to compete with sega america for NO reason.

Yeah you can pull anything off of the drive. The roms and isos are all in specific folders (as is everything else) if you’d rather use something different, but 12tb is huge so dissecting it all takes a little bit of work (and time) to move

@TynologyGaming
@TynologyGaming 2 күн бұрын
Depends on what all you want to play. Minimum suggested requirements are a moderately recent processor and RTX 1060 or newer, although this is less important if you’re just focused on older games as they included requirements for the modern games in the notes 😬

😒👍 Nice, this is the best way to preserve video games thru the centuries, drm free games on loca physical hard drives that can run on windows or linux or apple mac or any future OS, for nintendo switch and pc i would recommend they offer up those hard drvie libraries as a separte option: option 1 a little of everything, option 2 nintendo switch only, option 3 PC Only. Thats a used hard drive I recommend buying a brand new HGST or Toshiba hard drive and copying everything over, buy additional hard drives so you can hook up your family and friends. For PC you really are going to need multiple 20TB Hard Drives so Stock Up. If your selling Gaming Desktop PCs or Gaming Laptops you can hookup the new customer with some of the games by adding a hard drive or SSD to their system and set up the emulator for them, all plug and play and ready to go. If your ambitios you can open up your own Arcade and setup each custom cabinet with a gaming pc and these games. Sharing is Caring. Merrry Christmas Everyone. Let's Go!

*Feeling nostalgic. I first got a Dreamcast way back in 1999 for Christmas. Within 2 years the laser burned out, I just packed it up along with the 80+ games & dumped it in a leaky shed. Years later I find all of the games & console obviously ruined. 2 months ago I decided to collect every game I could. I have amassed quite a collection 87 in total. Some heavy hitters in there but surprisingly the UK only saw just over 200 officially released Dreamcast games. Going to try & collect them all by this time next year.*

Stories like these are bittersweet. I wish I knew what happened to my original collection 😭 It’s so awesome to hear about people rebuilding collections though. We got about 600 but I’m sure those 200 were to cream of the crop there. Good luck and let me know how it goes!!

I acquired a 5TB HD full of games, and it does indeed have almost every game all the way up to the Nintendo Switch even... This is the item you would buy if you would like to uh, get all the roms without downloading them or fear of downloading them. It is ideal for a lower speced system in the living room for plug n play. But the biggest drawback for me is that it is indeed a Hard Drive and not an SSD which means it's likely a low quality HD and it's slow as well. IT still works and works well, but I digress.

Re-iterating here because it's important: Emulation is a complex and controversial subject, I know. Not all emulation is piracy and not all piracy is emulation. This drive is probably the most blatantly "piracy-centric" product I'll ever showcase on this channel. Kinhank sent me their Kinhank 12TB Gaming Hard Drive to review which I agreed to out of curiosity. I hadn't done a lot of research on the product and didn't realize all the baggage that came along with it. That said, I pirated games when I was a kid in the 90s; I also saved up money to buy the games I was passionate about. Yes, buying something like this (or agreeing to review and "promote" a product like this) comes with a lot of ethical soul-searching. I feel I've contributed to the gaming community for decades, all while keeping various distanced eye on the entire darker side of the industry. That said, I do NOT condone blatant piracy of games currently available by publishers and the developers that put their efforts into those games. I have personal ties to the industry and do not want to see people lose their livelihoods or be unable to find a job they're overly qualified for simply because the industry has to put more money into blocking piracy than hiring talented designers and developers. With all that said, the product I showcase is here: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_oCZoG2F THIS IS NOT AN ENDORSEMENT. This is an affiliate link, so if you want to use it to buy something else, using this link will support the channel (also, use any links in this description if you purchase from Amazon or AliExpress to support the channel, even if not for the products linked). If you're interested in just the UGREEN enclosure, you can get it here: amzn.to/49DTHL8 s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_oD4jE5p I should have added to be extra careful about buying hard drives (refurbished or anything "non-new") as in researching this video I found a lot of information about how easy it is to rewrite file tables and even spoof history of the drive. Never put sensitive data on drives like this without backups. Something else to note is that I shot this entire video on my new iPhone 16 Pro Max. Let me know what you think about the quality. I used a new microphone as well, which is available here: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_omTR8rz amzn.to/4ix0Z7c I have a new PO Box! the main problems I have with the Dreamcast modding community Is that they believe the Dreamcast was also great like the rest of us but our graphic user interface is terrible. Compare that to wii flow, for Xbox 360 Aurora. How come we don't see cover flow interfaces like that 😑. We can barely get box art. 🤦🏿‍♂️

A lot of people talk about how great the Dreamcast was. But it was only on the market for less than 2 years. It didn't get the opportunity to fade into existence like most consoles. It was abruptly snatched off the shelf in its prime. During this time in circulation it didn't have to compete with anybody. The PlayStation 2 and the Xbox didn't get to compete with it. It's like having Mike Tyson retire soon as he went to prison. It was completely awesome for what it was but it was the only thing like that. The graphic jump was from the original PlayStation and Sega Saturn, to Dreamcast.

You forgot to mention OLED burn, PWM, cost of OLED vs LCD, if people knew the truth they'd stay away from OLED OLED looks better but is worse in every other possible way, except being thinner.
@TynologyGaming
@TynologyGaming 28 күн бұрын
If you play the same game all day for like 15 years, yes there can be some burn-in eventually, but not in real world cases (lots of videos discussing this specific panel about it). These OLED screens are about the same (or cheaper) than their IPS versions, and I did not see any visible PWM (I’m not too sensitive to it but notice it when it’s bad). I could have mentioned that when I was talking about the brightness drawbacks though. Both the IPS and the OLED are about $50, the OLED is much easier to install and looks better. I like both panels, but this OLED is what I’d suggest to people modding their own consoles until something new and better comes along

@@TynologyGaming I'm not too worried about the prevalence of OLED, mobile gaming will eventually make OLED obsolete. For really hardcore and professional mobile gamers there's no alternative to IPS, the more mobile gaming spreads, the more daggers are driven into the evil heart of OLED. Such an all around terrible and quite evil and harmful technology.

The reality is a lot of people didnt like the dreamcast controller. If you have to tell someone why he/she needs to stop hating the controller and be more open minded to it then the controller itself failed to do its purpose. I really wish they have gone a dual analog style and alittle bit more smaller design, changed the cord position and if possible remove the vmu slot. As good as that memory card is it also got alot of hate as its more of a distraction in the game during crucial moments and what caused the controller to be big in the first place.
