How long do toners and or glosses last on hair? I’m a dark brunette with a faint amount of grey so I asked my hairdresser for more of an ashy baby highlights, natural looking and it looked great after she put toner on and was done and then when I washed my hair three days later it turned to copper highlights which I hate!! What color of highlights can I ask her to do on my dark brunette grayish hair?

This was amazing! I never know what to ask for but I do bring pictures. It took me forever to figure out if I’m a warm or a cool but last time I had my blood drawn I asked what color my veins are & I guess I’m a warm. I’m always drawn to more light ash blonde than golden blonde. Should I stick to the warm/cool theory?

I would! I also look at eye color and brow color. If both are warmer I go warmer if they are cool I go cool&

I like to do this on my foil highlight clients to give them an extra pop. It adds even more lift and blend because you had already lifted your client with foils and then painted on top of it which lifts the rest of the hair I didn’t put into the foil. Try it it’s a game changer!

@@loragarcia5212 hi! I love 9GB and 9NB mixed. It gives a sandy neutral color. If she wants to be brighter I clear out my 9 levels with 1 ounce of clear and let it sit for the full 20!

@@DaniellaBenita Hi Daniella I did try 10VG 1/2 + 10GI when I pre lighten her hair some parts of her hair was level 10 and other parts of her hair was level 9 . Her hair turn out pretty but the parts of her hair that was level 9 came a little to much sand color. Do you have any suggestions. Thank you so much

Ok I’m brand new at shades eq I usually use pulp riot on my blondes for toning and now need something else as they’re not I’m Porto g into the UK anymore. I have a lady who is very difficult to lift light and she likes it light. The only thing that seems to take it to a light shade, that neutralises the yellow/orange is the silver pulp riot. What would you recommend to use on her in the shades please

@@carriegold8242 hi! What are you using to lift? Have you ever tried blonde me lightener from schwartkopf? It’s the best bleach I’ve ever used in my life but it’s extremely strong so do not use heat unless you’re monitoring it. 9T in shades eq is gorgeous and if you needed a hint more power a cap of 9B. If she likes to be light I add 1 oz of clear to my 9 levels and let them process for the full 20 min!

@@DaniellaBenita hi again, Yes I already use that with 30 vol for her hair. It just dosent seem to get past the orange/yellow stage. The silver in pulp riot lifts out the yellow to a nice colour but I now need something else. So 9T with normal developer but a cap full of clear for more you'd recommend

Hi!! This is a complicated answer. You have to fill your blonde first then add the dark color over your filled tone. Are you sure you want to go darker all over? What I suggest to my blondes is adding a root melt and I heavily lowlight them then tone the blonde that isn’t low-lighted. It gives a much more blended, natural look but you still have your blonde pops!

Just found this valuable video, thanks! Not sure if you are still responding but I am curious if you are applying to dry hair for 20 minutes? I plan to try the 6GN for my brassy level 6/7 color. I’d rather be a little darker than have too much warmth.

Hi! Yep I apply onto dry hair if I want it to be more impactful. Be careful though because it can get spotty so make sure you have plenty of color to completely saturate your hair. Toning on your level is the best way to get rid of brass and what’s great about shades eq is it looks intense for 2-3 washes but then the color softens. So don’t panic when you shampoo the first time! It will gently release the color and look super natural by wash 3!
