As an actual owner of a Mustang GT for nearly 30 years and a die-hard Mustang guy, I definitely consider this a Mustang. Is it the same as my stick-shift V8? No, but it is a different use case, much like the El Camino was to the Chevelle and the Nomad was to the Bel-Air. Even the first-gen Mustang had many uses and appealed to a broad range of people. Shelby thought it was a secretary’s car before he came on board! Too many non-Mustang owners try to dictate what they think a Mustang is or should be. I thought this line of thinking was put to rest years ago….

I love my 2024 Mach-E Premium, great build quality overall. Very happy with it. Only thing that bugs me from time to time is sometimes (not all the time) is the screen lag on the main screen. As for the back seats, we haven't had any issues with our use case, we have plenty of room. Great video Colton!

Awesome review! I recently got a 2024 Mach-E GT, and I absolutely love it. Can’t wait for the weather to improve so I can wash it. I appreciate your detailed analysis of the fit and finish-it’s interesting to hear how it compares to other EVs. I test-drove a lot of EVs before deciding on the Mach-E, and my wife already had a 2023 Mach-E Premium. It was funny driving her car to test-drive others because it gave me a great point of comparison. After all those test drives, I kept coming back to the Mach-E. I never thought I’d own two of the same car, but here we are! Your thoughts on the materials, space, and design are spot-on. We have owned a few BMW's over the years and I use them as comparison and I have loved them as well. I’m impressed with the premium feel for the price. Thanks for the great content

I do love the color. I've always been a little underwhelmed with the Mach-E, but this vehicle really sort of works in the Rally trim. It IS a Mustang after all, and a Mustang needs that bit of fun that this definitely has.
@mrjonlorАй бұрын
I’m on my 2nd Mach E and it’s a lot of fun. If I were buying one today, I would 100% go for the Rally trim. Interestingly, I think part of the issue Coulton has with the space in the back is from the change to a solid roof. It was designed for the glass roof which gives you a couple extra inches and lots of extra light.
@rusticroadsАй бұрын
Nice to finally see a build quality review of the Mustang Mach-E! You found what a lot of buyers have found, which is that it’s a very well-built car and a very good first effort from Ford. The Rally is a $4k upgrade from the GT, and $7k more than an extended-range AWD Premium ( which is probably the volume leader trim level), so your comments about its high price are from the extra money they’re getting from people who think a plastic rear spoiler makes them look cool to their friends. From what I’ve seen, the Rally actually can handle the off-roading fun its name evokes, but so few people will ever take it off asphalt… Are you going to do a paint quality analysis? I know that it’s hard to look at scratches, etc on a press car that’s been abused, but at least a paint thickness walk-around? I’ve been awaiting that since Kyle had a Mach-E for testing a few years ago. Take your comments about build quality and finish materials and apply them to a $52k vehicle, and you’ll see why the Mach-E is a popular choice. Given that it’s a 2020 vehicle design and the first EV from Ford, it’s still doing a good job of keeping up. Every car has tradeoffs, as there is no perfect car for a perfect price.

The downside is they revamped the 2025. The center armrest no longer has the gear shifter. It's back on the center column. Steering wheel car charger was added to where the shifter used to be. They need to make a bigger windshield wiper blade and as I said in my first original comment, they do have remote keys for the front trunk. I would like to see an auto suspension on the front trunk where it lifts up on its own. I believe four didn't want to do it for safety reasons or are they would have had to charge even more money
@rusticroadsАй бұрын
@@RonBme The gear shifter move is a good one, I think. Even if it clutters up the left stalk with a lot of functions. That rotary shifter was awfully cheap-feeling for a $50k vehicle and it took up a lot of room.

I can open my 2021 Mach E First edition frunk with my Ford App on my phone. The rear seats and trunk fit my family very well. however we are average size adults. I really don’t think this car is designed for your size so saying it is too small is all relative. The Frunk adds a lot of space for when going on long trips.

My guess is that the pull handle on the front door exists to address a situation where freezing rain or equivalent would render the "pusher mechanism" ineffective. In that situation, an individual is going to likely have more force at their disposal versus the mechanism in the door. And, it would be critical to get in the car in the front for obvious reasons. That said, just a hypothesis on my part.
@sunnyvalentinoАй бұрын
The Mach E comes together perfectly in this Rally spec, esp with the 2025s which have Heat Pump and NACs. I'd take it over the Ioniq 5N and Model Y P. The color, wheels, range and rally adapted suspension are chefs kiss and build is very good too!

Good video, but a lot of your views are your opinion, rather than fact. For example, the screen on mine (‘24 GT PE) is as responsive as the screen was on my ‘24 Model 3 was. I love the implementation of this screen. I love CarPlay, and really missed that with the Tesla, although it does take up too much of the screen. The interior is so much nicer than the Tesl. I’ve also owned a Model Y. This is far more comfortable to drive, especially over bumps. Rear seat is fine for my family. None of us are 6 ft.
@RonBmeАй бұрын
The rear hatch was designed that way. Nobody knows why but Ford the front trunk is a decent amount of space. There is actually a remote that you can purchase separately to have the front trunk built into the key as well. There was a lot of things that you didn't say anything about that being a premium vehicle should have came with. I think all cars now should be at 20-in rims and even number rim. The tire would be cheaper and a more variety of a tire versus a 19 in the infotainment system. It may be something wrong with that one. This system is a lot more intuitive and smooth. Maybe it hasn't received its update. Who knows... You can open the front trunk multiple ways by key by app on phone as well as the infotainment system and there's a manual trunk release at the foot of the door driver side

I should add that I test drove the EV6 GT-Line, and considered it. It is a very nice car, but its steering is super light, even in Sport mode. For me personally, how tight the steering feels is probably the single most important factor of driving enjoyment. This is an area in which Tesla shines, and the Mach-E is a close 2nd. But the EV6 is horrible in except in the EV6 GT, which unfortunately has a range of 207 miles. Ironically, while the EV6’ EGMP platform mates are each different, the Ioniq 5’s steering is even worse than the EV6 (non GT) unless it in the Ioniq 5N. The EV9’s steering feels much nicer than the EV6 (our other car is an EV9). The Genesis GV60 Advanced and Performance both have superb steering. I wish Kia would put that steering feel in the EV6. I’d be driving that GT-Line now if that were the case.

Left rear is the ideal charge port location. It allows charging for cars parked on the side of the road in the USA.

Definitely not the best car, but when you add the price variable in, it shoots to top of the list. Decent quality, very high performance, great looking... Not looking for a car right now, but this would definitely be on my list to check out. Just saw some videos of the press being able to take it out on a rally course and it looked like a blast.

At around 7 minutes in, he speaks about the black-ish plastic all around the car. That is one of my biggest peevs with vehicles today. I absolutely hate that. I will say that this Mach E being the Rally, I think it fits better and is fine. But any Mach E that is not the Rally should have all those moldings painted. From what I've found, the Select has the cheap black plastic. The premium has shiny black painted (which is better) and the GT has the fully painted.

I have a 24 GT. It's great. Build quality compared to a 24 Model Y, for the most part, is better IMO. I use public charging for the most part and charging time is fine. But I live in San Diego, CA and have many charging stations around (Including the use of Tesla superchargers 🙂), plus at office location. In the end, it depends on what you want and need. The GT does stand out among the Tesla every 5 cars here. I did pay more as well for not getting the tax credit, but it's worth it to me. Tesla isn't as accurate with range estimates, according to many sources.

I like the car but I do not like white rims. Also Ford needs to fix two things before I would consider this as an option. First build it in the US and second improve the charging performance. I doubt the location will ever be moved unfortunately.
