Your tip of following the line on your left to exit and the line on your right to stay in helps A LOT! Especially when the lane splits and confusion starts. Thank you!!!
There is also a playlist which has all the episodes in it.

At 4:10 does he mean 2nd exit not 3rd?
@DrivingLessonsnet3 ай бұрын
@@CrimsonCrad nope, it’s the 3rd exit. Take a look at the sign - 1st exit is shown as a stub without any labels to indicate the destination 2nd exit is for airport only 3rd exit is where we are going. Also watch when we get to the roundabout We drive past the first exit (where the other cars are turning off We drive past the 2nd exit Then we leave at the 3rd exit

Hi, Just found this wonderful video and am glad to see that its not only me whos gets nervous about motorway driving. Appreciated your calming voice and very professional video. Really liked all the effort put into each of the different sections. Thank you for taking the time and sharing all this experience to benefit others and make road users better and safer drivers. I liked the section on entering motorway services as the drastic changes required are not somthing you really think about when you you head out on your motorway adventure.

Hi my question is about variable speed limits if the previous sign was a 60 (or less) , does the previous variable speed still apply when nothing is displayed on the matrix sign, or does a blank sign mean it is back to 70? I have noticed that occasionally there will not be a national speed limit sign displayed to indicate 'back to normal'!?

Hi, If you are In a drop lane 1 and 2 and the traffic on the other side lanes 3 and 4 are moving slower ie a large vehicle/lorry, is it acceptable to pass or would that be undertaking? Thank you great video.
@DrivingLessonsnet6 ай бұрын
@@Jamie-nc7qy great question. It’s acceptable to pass, just do so with caution as it is not uncommon for people to change lanes very late at junctions! Think about it this way. What would happen if lanes 3 and 4 came to a standstill because a problem on the motorway up ahead? Lanes 1 and 2 are leaving the motorway (possibly going to a different motorway, but leaving this one). Would you stop in lane 1 or 2 to avoid “undertaking” the traffic in lane 3 and 4 even though your lane is clear? That would only cause an even bigger tailback on the current motorway. By continuing in lane 1/2 and “undertaking” the slower or stationary traffic in lane 3/4 you are relieving the pressure on the motorway and helping traffic to flow better rather than causing an even bigger tailback. Hope that helps.

what about when a slip road is entering the motorway and you are on the left hand side, and you cannot move to the right as there is oncoming traffic on the right hand lane, plus a car is coming into the slip road very fast?
@Random_Blip3 ай бұрын
One suggestion would be to start reducing your speed so the (fast) incoming car can easily overtake you and move into the gap ... and if need be flash that person to let them know that you're letting them in (in front of you).

Some exit motorway don’t have count down markers
@DrivingLessonsnet8 ай бұрын
The only ones which don’t have countdown markers should be the ones where the exit is a drop lane - in other words you are just following the lane as the whole lane leaves the motorway. In these cases countdown markers are not required as everyone in that lane (should) be going to the same place and no indication is required. These are normally well signed by overhead gantry signs and different road markings as well. If you know of a slip road exit (where you turn off rather than following a drop lane) which doesn’t have countdown markers I’d be interested to know where it is.
