Thank you! For the last four days, you can't get the 500 tickets normally available for Centre Court by lining up in the queue. So it looks like the only way to get last minute tickets for the final is to pay the very high prices of either a debenture seller or a company that sells hospitality experiences (which will be even more).

@PreetBanerjee What is your feeling now on buy vs rent in 2024? Housing and rental prices are sky high in major cities. Are you renting in London? We are homeowners for the last 20+ years but our latest house is a renovated 1950's bungalow in Calgary which was not cheap and still so many projects to deal with! We rented last year for one year and it was a breath of fresh air to not have any yard work or home maintenance items and have our weekends free to for recreation and relaxation. I guess the grass is always greener...

- Except for the one ticket that you can transfer to your guest, you must use the tickets yourself - please do not apply for tickets as a gift or to sell. - Tickets must not be sold, transferred or advertised for sale or transfer whether online or elsewhere. Any tickets advertised for sale or transfer will be void How do they check on the day? I assume the name is printed on the ticket … do they actually verify your ID/passport?

Not really - if I recall correctly you fill out a TD1 from when starting a new job that helps the employer determine the proper amount to remit on your behalf. You can try to file a T1213 to get extra deductions but they can be denied if not normal. Employers are required to remit a certain amount. In some cases, if you have a retirement saving plan at work they will factor the deductions eligible for your contribution to reduce the tax they collect that you’d just get back anyway.

All trades below a certain amount (I think they said it was about $603,000) would be cancelled. To the extent that an HFT firm or algo shop were trading down to that threshold, there might have been some anomalous gains. Beyond that, I don't know if anyone would have made outlier gains from the situation.

@@MasterTactics If the reason for the jump could be linked to a clearly erroneous execution reason, then it would likely get cancelled yes. For both the person who who bought and for the person who sold it.

@@Teah8cbdude Ah I think I see what you are asking. A synthetic share is when you use a combination of instruments (like derivatives) to give the same payoff as a position in an underlying security. In other words, you could create a position using a combination of options that would perform the same as just holding short the underlying stock. The existence of synthetic shares does not mean there are no actual underlying shares. So there can be actual shares that exist as well as synthetic positions.

@@MyMathProfessor It does seem like a better way to police LULD would be to trigger a guardrail halt before passing the information through the SIP, as opposed to waiting for a trade outside the prescribed band. Something doesn't smell perfectly alright, but as a matter of scale, so far this seems quite minor compared to the flash crash so I don't know if we'll hear much more about it.

I guess this is one of the reason we avoid market orders. A video on glitches might be interesting. I understand that this case was a clear technical error, but I guess the famous 2010 'flash crash' was legit, because it was triggered by actual orders, and the trading bots went haywire when the stop-loss orders triggered one another like the 'Kessler Effect'... :-D

You can still wait in the queue, but tickets to Centre court won’t be available. You could still get tickets to the other show courts (if you are early enough which likely requires camping out as those tickets are limited), but grounds access is available and lots of people watch the giant screens and enjoy the energy of the grounds.

Excellent video and clear explanations on the different types of life insurance. Only diagram that confused me was the whole life one with death benefit and cash values, and the difference being the amount the insurance company has at risk. What about policies where the death benefit increases as the cash value increases? Anyways after thinking about it for some time I understood what you were getting at with the diagram. Perhaps a lot of policies have a fixed death benefit, but for the policies that do not the diagram doesn't fit. However for a video like this it's understandable to keep it simple and go with what is generally the case.

I wonder if it is a double-edged sword: less shares to short so the short interest has a lower limit (and it was partly the high short interest that put GME on the radar in the first place), but a lower tradeable float also reduces shares available for covering those who are short if they need to cover. There are some other differences as well: hedge fund analysts have had three years to study how the retail investor movement in meme-stocks worked in the past and using that info against them.
