Thankyou Cori. The whole concept of making my own sourdough has, for some reason, scared me. Probably because I have not slowed down enough to enjoy the process! Life is changing for us now, so I think my 'sour dough' time has arrived!

Great! In fairness, there's some fantastic bread making in Ireland - has been for some decades. World class far better than France. Germany makes the best breads on the planet, that includes baguettes but problem they can't recruit as it's such a long apprenticeship. Haven't quite recovered the 'wobbly' baguette last time in Paris.

A big lesson i learned from making sourdough is that, sometimes, time and patience is more effective than effort I mix the basics and just leave it to sit for half an hour and when i come back it has done most o of the work. The dough has become stretchy and smooth as if but magic.a more stretch and colds and it's hastily done. I never kneed for hours. And I learned to avoid waste. I never have any discard. I plan now much i need and when and make only that much.

I love your bread baking. Baking your own bread, and being able to DOES change your life because you realise we dont have to rely on the industrial infrastructure weve all been embedded into from infancy. Or not totally. This is why baking bread is kept mystified. Even when TV chefs demonstrate baking bread they manage to make it look complicated and time consuming. I use a pinch of dried yeast and that works fine for me. Being able to make bread frees you up and probably saves money but ive never totted that up. Im watching this video in Paris and later today im off to Rouen.

I totally agree with you. I started my sourdough journey about 3 months ago, and to begin with it was so time consuming and with so many conflicting rules from you tube creators, but now that I have found a good rhythm and slowed down to appreciate the whole process as a kind of meditative hobby, I am really learning so much about the life that I actually want to live, rather than keeping busy doing things that bring no nourishment to the family. Loving every day of making new recipes and I too follow Farmhouse on Boone

Done with hustling…… yet it is obvious for all to see that you really are the classic narcissistic hustler. Claiming to be a homemaker….and yet every video you post on here is nonstop you talking nonstop about yourself… your partner, your daughter you rarely mention…deny that if you wish, but folk see you are your narcissism….The honest truth is that 😅 are not any of what you claim, no homemaker, certainly no loving, caring mother…and no way in this world are you ever a kind, caring, loving partner…Your narcissism prevents you from ever being any of what you claim. Sure, you can now play the victim cos someone has spoken the truth about you….but go back to the time you had first moved to Ireland and me predicting you to be the very thing you are showing yourself to be.

I was nodding along to everything you were saying, but at the same time kept thinking about how it feels like when you have kids in school, really embracing this mindset feels harder. Opting out from life's 'normal' pressures feels great but very at odds with expectations from school especially - being in a routine, there by 8.45 each day, not being able to keep the kids up late just because it would be nice to watch a summer sunset. Ranting now...but thoughts welcome!

Yes nodding along with you now Laura! Having tried homeschool while we were travelling, our daughter much prefers being in a school setting and so we have those same routine pressures and challenges. Almost everything you have said sounds like home education for children, school doesn't allow a child to be "wild" takes away the Freedom for them to discover self directed learning and severely limits their time amongst nature, every family is different but such a shame your daughter is no longer home educated but I know that is an individual choice and I respect that, your words make absolute sense to me as regards to my children and myself ❤

This is something I am grappling with Cat! I completely agree with what you're saying. I might go deeper into this topic either on a video or my podcast. Because I think there is so much truth in what you're saying about the limitations school can place on children AND every family, child etc is different so what do those of us who aren't able (for various reasons) to currently home school, do then? It's an important question.

@@CoriLivestheDreamLife yes it is a very important question, I would love to see a video or listen to a podcast about this topic! Also for those that can't as you said for various reasons, what options are out there etc I know in Ireland a lot of parents don't actually know that it's absolutely Legal and doubt their own capability, that was my thoughts until we started four years ago and it's been amazing the best decision we as a family ever made❤️

I loved this video and am on a similar 'journey.' We already live in a beautiful part of England, Cornwall, but are craving even wilder. Our house is on the market and we're relocating to Scotland which I'm very lucky to be able to do because of how my income is arranged and the fact that my son does online home school. We want to be able to walk straight from the door into national parks and forests and forge a much greater, daily connection to a wilder level of nature. I found your words really encouraging - it's always nice to hear from people who feel similar and are taking that jump into what you described as "counter culture." I think it's going to become a bigger piece of the wilder culture over time but possibly not for everyone. Looking forward to your next video.

@@michelledawtrey193 I agree with your comment Michelle. But the truth is the truth, she really is narcissistic. Please go read all her other KZbin videos….every video is about her, ….its her camper van…her house in England…her buying a house in Ireland and making it into her new home….forgive me but I always thought that a relationship consisted of at least two people, both contributing towards their lives together. From all her comments she implies that it is only her funding everything in her life, hence her constant need to tell the world that is her camper, her home, blah di blah. Gotta feel sorry for her partner….although victim is a far better term to use I feel. If he were to treat her in the exact same manner as she treats him there would be thousands of you screaming and yelling and calling him a domestic abuser….Yet cos it’s her behaving like Megan Markle, because it’s her doing the domestic abuse all you can do is moan at me simply because I am able to psychoanalyse her and expose her. She has no understanding whatsoever about being a homemaker, a home creator …same as Megan markle her homemaking interest is nothing more than yet another of her never ending passing fads… again, there are an awful lot of her passing fads she’s lectured us about in a lot of her previous videos on here.
