Great video. Pulled my dash and changed all the doors in my hvac box, found 2 broken ones. Intake/recirc door was broken completely from hinge and resting on top of blower motor. Thank you sir!

Just did this 3/2/24. 2006 5.9 w/ prod. date of 8/05 which makes it pre-2006.5. Couple items to note: there are two nuts on the firewall behind the coolant overflow tank. You don't have to remove the tank to get to them but they are very difficult. To remove the a/c lines, the tool will need to have very thin couplers that slide in behind the pipe or it will not fit. There are different heater cores for pre- 3/2006 and post 3/2006 manufacturing dates. Purchase accordingly. OEM actuators are discontinued. Murrays from O'reillys are the best way to go, because if they malfunction, you can file a labor claim and get a warranty. The blend door USA kit has a different type of fastener than in the video for the actuator that has the rods attached. It now has purple plastic clips like the one on the e-brake.

Is there a system you use to keep all of the nuts and bolts organized so you know exactly which ones go where during reinstallation?

im a 60 year old forty year certified tech.... loved this video no short cuts just great competent work explained well.... i just popped in a recirculation blend door without pulling the dash by taking out the heater motor and actuator and putting it in... but the defrost floor heat blend door is busted also so i will be asking my customer how far he wants to go and if he wants to put in the aluminum blend door kit looks like a great kit.... thanks for posting such a great video very well done...

Many thanks for this video. I own a 2004 and I know there's some minor differences but nothing that can't be easily overcome. My HVAC has essentially been inoperative for a few years, due to the blend door problem, only because I was afraid to attempt pulling out the box. This video showed how silly I've been. Thanks a bunch.

Hi John, Great video. I have a 2008 Infiniti QX56 that I am trying to get to the cause of a door/floor creaking sound. In other words, it's not a clicking sound of a broken gear in one of the actuators. I have watched so many videos and read the forums trying to find someone else with this symptom. One mechanic who was showing where some of the actuators were in the Infiniti thought maybe it's a problem with the actual door itself making the creaking. Have you ever dealt with something like this before? I didn't see you mention it here but I'll ask anyway....do these doors need to be greased? Have you ever had creaking actuators? Do the actuators need to have any parts greased? I was concerned that when my mechanic fixed a clicking actuator, he didn't bring the door and actuator back to base and the actuator is trying to move the door passed a stop point, hence the creaking. I'm thinking it's on the drivers side and is either the mode or defrost mode door. I'm praying it's not the one behind the dash on top of the heater box. Any insight you have would be greatly appreciated since I'm going to tackle this project in the next week.

I had a dual disk for years and finally got tired of it sounding like a combine with a bad bearing and put a heavy duty single disk in. I absolutely love it shifts better and now I get to hear the Cummins purr!

does this chattering sound mean a worn out throw out bearing? is this a sign of improper wear or premature failure? sure it’s a performance part but will it last 100k miles or more if I don’t race the car? I’m hearing this sound from a mk7 gti I’m about to purchase.

I just ordered a stabilizer. Put in new tires and new tie rod ends. Also got an alignment. Now the truck wants to walk over road imperfections. Gives a weird feeling. I hope this helps. Can the steering gear be tightened? What else can help with this boating feel ?

Check your sway bar mounts and bushings. You can usually see on the sway bar if it is moving by wear marks. Also check your ball joints and wheel bearings. Once you replace one thing it will just move to the next weakest link pretty much until you have replaced everything. It's a dodge trust me I know.
@maxpain71977 ай бұрын
Also check the pitman arm when you do this. If there is any kind of movement replace it now, because it's a pain later if you leave it and have to tear it all apart again later to get to it.

This rattle IS normal for a SB DD clutch. Your throwout bearing will warn you that it’s about to fail. You’ll hear a ticking noise that slows down when pressing the clutch as you’re rolling to a stop. I caught mine before it let go,…all it cost me was labor and a new bearing.

My 2005 2500 Ram Manual 6 speed has a screw in Shifter Extension and also found leaving the heater hoses on at the firewall saved me a lot of time, just pull them through.
