Washington chosing to step down when he did, is basically just as crazy as if some modern day dictator just said "hey guys I'm gonna leave and you can elect someone new" he had so much popularity he could've been president till death, but he knew what that could mean and be interpreted as. So he made the greater choice to step down and allow someone else to become the next president to show that this was a true republic for the people by the people and he would not be dictator for life. He was also really tired and wanted to retire. He had wanted to retire after term 1 but knew that there was still much more work to do that he couldn't stop.

Something fascinating about this is that to this day, historians are unsure if Hamilton fired in the air or fired at Burr, because both sides gave conflicting testimonies. Hamilton seemed to express reluctance to kill Burr in his letter to Eliza, but that's the thing. He was always a master of controlling the narrative. That's why he wrote the Reynold's Pamphlet. If he admitted to his infidelity himself, then at least people found out on his terms. In short, we don't know what choice Hamilton actually made, and the answer will forever remain lost to history.

Fun fact Wait no I mean sad fact: after Philip Hamilton died Hamilton's daughter Angelica, (yes, he named his daughter after Eliza's sister but it's okay) she had a mental breakdown because of Philips death and never fully recovered. Dying in a mental asylum

When Angelica says "there's a grace too powerful to name" gets to me every time. Grace basically means an undeserved forgiveness. Personally, I don't think he deserved forgiveness but then I can totally understand that Eliza has just lost a person that she loved with her whole heart and soul and I can understand her not wanting to lose another.

Ironic that in the end, he wasn't willing to wait for it, the IT being: Hamilton throwing away his shot. And Hamilton who always says he's not "throwing away his shot," in the end, he did and it killed him. Brilliant how they set these two motifs for each character and then their opposite becomes each character's fatal flaw.

The voice of powerline is known as trevin Campbell, yes he does have his own music. Powerline was actually originally written for Michael Jackson, put Michael Jackson could not do it so they got trevin, the direction they gave trevin was this character is a mix of Prince and Michael Jackson. I swear trevin nailed this

That song makes me ugly cry every time I hear it too ! It triggers something in me about leaving a trace of our passage on Earth ! We are so little in front of eternity than dying without leaving any good behind us seems (to me) like the saddest thing in existence ! Also dying alone is one of my greatest fears ! I love your reactions, you are so into the emotions, I feel less alone with my cryings on every sad moment of TV ^^'
