I recently did a landscape but the colours were a bit too vibrant. I like the subtlety of this and wonder if there are some essential colours I should use to get a more realistic feel.

I absolutely love this little video. I’ve got a holiday snap that I wanted to paint of a square with lots of trees. I tried it in watercolour and it didn’t turn out very well but I now feel I could follow the instruction in this clip and try it in acrylic. Thank you Will

Thank you Will. I am a student (i guess that is what it is called). Started with your basic inteo classes and my art has improved so much. Depth, color, realism. Plus, your voice is so soothing, it really makes learning easy. Thank you.

My only issue is that my paint drys darker than when it’s wet, so it’s a gamble if I can actually color match it

If you’re having issues with colour shift you could try the Winsor and newton professional range. They use a clear, transparent binder (most manufacturers use a white acrylic binder) so there is a very minimal shift from wet to dry.

It’s just due to the stiffness of the bristles.

This is one of my favourite acrylic tutorials! It got me really excited about glazing and how much it can really enhance your artwork. I’d had a bottle of glazing fluid on my shelf for months not really knowing what to do with it until watching your tutorial. I painted this one twice and I’m leveraging these techniques for another fish painting. Every Sunday, my dogs have sardines with their dinner - we call it “Sardine Sunday.” I hung one of my sardine paintings just above my dog’s dish so he can enjoy sardines all week long. lol Thank you for this amazing tutorial!

Hi Will. I have just stumbled onto your page and am beyond thrilled. I live on a farm in South Africa, so going to painting classes is out for me😢. I love your peony painting, but cannot see the follow up classes after the introduction. Have you filmed them yet or am I doing something wrong? Can't wait to get painting. Thank you for putting your talents out for others to enjoy. Very much appreciated😊

what an amazing lesson. So well done! I am powerless to resist: this will be tomorrow' s morning painting. And its free?!! Will Kemp is the best...can we nominate him for a Webby Award. If you are new to Will Kemp I recommend checking out all his lessons as so many are free...his lessons have turned my skills around....as well as being an inspiration year after year. His unflagging encouragement and gentleness are priceless.

Mr. Kemp, this was the first painting video I fully viewed (multiple times lol) when I first felt a draw (no pun intended) to creating art/images with acrylic paint. I had been drawing my whole life, but had no experience with any brush applied medium. 10+ years later, I am still painting. Im not famous (lol obviously lol), Im not wealthy, I dont even sell paintings, I only create for personal satisfaction. My point is simple, ur initial guidance fueled that spark & sent me down a path that gave me so much more than material wealth or recognition, u gave me joy. Thank u & wishing u all the best!!!

Found you on the post about hanging paintings and noticed your tutorial links, in particular, the one about Cornish Winter light. St. Ives is my favourite place in the world. Had a holiday home in Hayle when I was married and frequented St.Ives. This is someone from California speaking. Every artist should experience this breathtaking coastal light this charming seaside town is known for. So many beautiful galleries.
