I'm suspecting the Alesis acoustic drum sounds are better than Yamaha's.

I love what this drums can do, I just hate the look of the snare and toms. Wish they made them with real looking shells. Good review though. By the way, what camera did you use to record this video if you don’t mind me asking.

ima be honest. i wish the neighbors beside me are loud. my downstairs neighbor is pretty loud so thats fine. but thing is, im a marching snare dude. i want to practice, however my bedroom does not have any sound insulation. as we know from marching snares, they are tuned to pierce the field unfortunately. im not in any band or sort but i do more military ish style than contemporary

personally as a mixing enginneer, i think the only mic that outshined the old set was the kick, but not by much, for the price of those mice I don't believe I would get them, they sound good, however i think that your old set would be able to handle heavier processing than those mice, just because of how natural they sound, the more processing you add to the earth works it almost doesn't emphizise the parts of the kit that i would want. PS. i mostly do stuff with heavy drum processing so that just my opinion.
This randomly came up in my recommended, seeing this video for the first time in years brings back so many memories lol.

I remember when I practiced the Samba foot pattern with Stick Control. The first three pages were a breeze once I got the hang of ... But I feel your pain with the triplets. I could never play the pattern without swinging the Samba beat once I got to page 5 with the triplet stickings. I too chose to move on haha.

It's not in every song I listen to. Because after losing my vinyl and cds to a flood, I shut myself in my cave and spent two years collecting all the high quality music I could ever want (mostly pirated), put it on a massive hard drive, imported it into musicbee, fixed all the tags and artwork, backed it up, streamed it to my phone and then bought some studio monitors and audiophile headphones. Now I can listen to crystal clear, high quality music that isn't this pathetic repetitive pop slop. I'm talking an absolutely comprehensive collection, complete discographies for the most part; everything from Michael Jackson to Bolt Thrower, Boards Of Canada to Michael Kiwanuka, Billy Joel to Wes Montgomery, Napalm Death to Gunship, Spın̈al Tap to Cypress Hill, Zodiac Mindwarp to Elvis, Faith No More to Vivaldi...Anything you could ever think of listening to, I got it. Arrested Development, Scooter, Pennywise, Immortal Technique, Geto Boys, The Stone Roses, De La Soul, Testament, Marty Robbins, Weird Al, Rick Astley and Mortician...I have obscure bands, weird novelty songs, comedy albums. Even a vinyl rip of a K-Tel disco Christmas record we used to play when I was a kid. I will never have to listen to the dystopian sounds of AI generated Gen-Z degeneracy ever again. I have more music than I could ever listen to, in every genre for every mood. Spotify and KZbin can suck a fat one. I will ride out the rest of my days jamming on my guitars, listening to a new record every day and slide blissfully into death without ever having to endure another Taylor Swift abortion or having my ears crapped in by Cardi B, or being ear-abused by Harry Styles, or be mumbled at by dead eyed Billie Eilish or whatever half wit xanax-addled autistic nonsense is big this week. PS: If anyone thinks they can stump my collection, try suggesting something and I'll see if I haven't got it. I'm not talking ultra obscure, weirdo stuff, but if there's a big band from the 20th Century I'm missing, I'll eat my own pubes.

How do you practice along to a metronome? I can't seem to find any headphones or earphones loud enough, it's always drowned out by my playing.

After 40 years of playing in rooms with brick walls, hardwood floors and 20' ceilings and hearing "too loud!!!" pretty much every night, I retired at the ripe old age of 48....2 years later I find myself playing for my church where, you guessed it, "too loud!!" so I've buying e drums. Thanks to this vid I am getting these, I can't believe how cool they look and sound. Thanks for the vid!

I've had both Roland and Alesis kits in the past and for someone who's an average drummer, I couldn't see any difference between the two, besides the price. As for saying drumming is an expensive hobby, I completely disagree. Once you've bought the kit, it's more of an investment as you should get many years use out of it, before anything needs to be replaced. If you then work out how much it's cost you over the years, it's actually very cheap.

Thoght the Same, with earthwork you hear your Drums as they are tuned. Hear the snare wire while Hit the high Tom. Sometimes IT might be better to use the Sennheiser to get a more fat Tom Sound.
