At this point, I am convinced that United doesn’t care about flight training at all and United Aviate Academy is just a poster child for its “good leads the way” marketing message because whenever they talk about the school they only talk about how many women and minorities are at the school but never discuss any actual flight training accomplishments or achievements.

So glad I stumbled upon this channel.. Very interesting.. I remember going from Newark to Prague and thinking the pilot looks like he just graduated high school --- not being mean just did not expect such a youthful looking pilot. The flight was great and was on United.

Big question, work in Africa my company is buying a 767 for cargo op, would you recommend doing the type rating. A bit worried because a lot of people are telling me it is outdated and it will be harder to find a job afterwards compared to a 737 type for example. What would you say?

Great to see a new video. Guess you probably aren't flying today, but regardless we are on I believe a 737 so you wouldn't be flying us anyhow. Hope to end up on one of your flights, or maybe see you around ORD area.

Watched a video the other day of a A380 over 7 days flew 34,000 miles and a 777 that flew 48,000. Amazing how much these planes are in the air.

Future video idea: To the extent you're able to arrange it, and without interfering with the process, perhaps you could cover recurring training from the perspective of a younger guy who doesn't already have many years and thousands of hours in type. I could imagine working out an arrangement with UAL such that a video could be approachable for the general public who know little/nothing about the ongoing training pilots go through to train for not only the "boring" routine flights but also the unexpected. Though some "aviation insider"-focused KZbinrs have talked about how scenarios derived from actual experiences have been integrated into recurrent training - Perhaps you could put together a piece looking at that as a more passenger-facing presentation showing how safety has dramatically improved in recent times. While I realize its probably best to not cite recent incidents (at any airline) specifically, a broader overview might be useful to assuage some individuals that, no, airplanes don't (normally) "fall out of the sky" even if something does go wrong... Not only are airplanes engineered to minimize risk even if something goes sideways, pilots are also trained in an ongoing basis to further limit risk.
