Omg I'm so glad this channel and these videos still exist! I just found this video again, I used to be OBSESSED with this arrangement (and all your others too) when I was 13! I would play this video through my earphones and attempt to play one of the piano parts along with the recording. Your incredible transcriptions (and Murray Gold/Ben Foster's talent) had such an impact on my childhood, and even though this was 12 years ago, THANK YOU! And thank you for never deleting these videos or the sheet music on your website. I'm going to have a blast now that I'm older going through all the music again and attempting to play it!

he looks so proud of bein the creator of all these riffs/ tracks...unfortunately I don't like all the things he has done alone...sometimes it seems like those who did "nothing" were maybe the one who did a lot, lol

I saw an episode of Californication, and this tween walked into a room with a t-shirt that said "Fuck Sting", I was absolutely irate. This young fu** has no idea about the genius that made music what it is today, Punk, reggae, alternative have all been strongly influenced by this one man. I love the Police, but lets face it, Stuart and Adny just followed Sting's lead.
@rejectionisprotection44485 күн бұрын
Not really. It was Stewart who introduced Sting to reggae. He recruited Sting, had the drive, vision, contacts and commercial savvy to get the Police started and drive them forward. The Police JUMPED on the punk/reggae bandwagon. Having Andy Summers gave Sting the confidence to expand and improve his songwriting. Give credit where credit is due. ALL of those three musicians needed to be part of The Police for it to be as successful as they were.

What is unbelievable to me is how these songs, like Message in a Bottle , start out as straightforward ideas which I'm sure many musicians are capable of (eg the three chord motif). But Sting's ability to craft it into the song it winds up as.... it's a magic. But it starts out with something you or I could do. Incredible really.

The thanks really needs to go to our wonderful BBC who sent Jool's out to Montserrat to do this in the first place a real gem of music history.. Sting wrote his songs just like we all did back then with a cassette player and whatever you could get basically.
