My mom calls this 'Cream of Tomato.' I love that you do 'edge-to-edge.' Does your 'Gentlemen's Agreement' apply to shredded cheese as well? Good tip to toast the inside of the bread also. I've never considered seasoning my grilled cheese, and the parm idea sounds delicious! Thanks.

I like some crunch to my tots so I'm assuming they could be used as a last layer, too. Then about 15 mins before done add a little more cheese over them. Different strokes for different folks but we know it's gonna taste great, either way. Thank you, Eric. :o)
@CookitSimplewithEric3 күн бұрын
Hello and thank you for watching! You can layer that however you like. Maybe next time I will try it with the tots on top. I love tater tots. I eat tater tots instead of French fries usually. I love a good cheeseburger and some crispy tots.
@tonithenightowl18362 күн бұрын
@@CookitSimplewithEric If I get a good buy on potatoes, I'll make French Fries for the freezer. Fried at a lower temp till cooked but not browned. This way, you can use a toaster oven to brown them right out of the freezer. I never tried making tater tots but there's recipes out there. I also don't work anymore so time is on my side and I might give it a try. :o)

Is there a meatloaf glaze out there that isn't ketchup, mustard and brown sugar? Or is that just how meatloaf is made? Good recipe though, and interesting with Pepsi and pineapple salsa! I've never considered making it in one of my cast iron skillets.
@CookitSimplewithEric4 күн бұрын
That is a good question about the glaze. I have used barbecue sauce before, but it’s just not the same as the traditional ketchup, mustard and brown sugar. Now you have me curious lol. I love baking it in the cast-iron skillet because it adds just a little more caramelization to the meatloaf and you can cut it like a pie. Thank you again for watching!

Great tip to smash burgers on the griddle! That browned crust is so tasty and looks like you toasted those buns for a deluxe burger. I usually skip chicken burgers because always loaded with bread crumbs to hold them together.
@CookitSimplewithEric8 күн бұрын
I’m not a big fan of breadcrumbs in my chicken burger. They taste much better and are juicier without them. I usually toast my buns in the toaster, even if I’m cooking out side. I think it just gives it a better toast and crunch, then toasting them on the grill or outside griddle. Thank you again for watching another video!

I was really impressed with how this turned out. I had made a variation of this in the past that wasn't as tasty as your recipe. I did make a few changes, I used a rotisserie chicken which you said was an option, added half a can each of corn and green beans and small can of carrots instead of your frozen vegetables and used the broiler at the end to make it a little crunchier. Definitely making it again! Any chance you will be making a Salisbury steak anytime soon?

Stewart is definitely a ham. I adopted him from the Humane Society when he was 9 months old. He will be 11 years old in a few months. He is the best dog I’ve ever had. The ginger ale acts as an acid to keep the apple slices from browning and I think it adds a subtle extra flavor in the sweetness of the fried apples. Thank you again for watching another video!
