I see too much emphasis on the candidate. The even greater danger is the massive population of supporters who are mental-health wise compromised. While he is unfit for office, they appear to be unfit to vote - they voted against their own interest. We need an underground mental health effort to help these people. They are aware something is terribly wrong, both outside and within themselves, but have no clue what to do about it. Their response so far is: burn it all down; maybe things will improve. While there is a contagion that is spreading from one man, the pandemic started before his time. I wonder if narcissists have been deliberately normalizing narcissism and taught most of us to accept a *"narcisstocracy"*. Movie and rock stars are fantasies we've been brought up to awe and worship, but less obvious admiration of other empty shells has been concurrent. A real problem facing the same demographic is a great replacement, but not it is not dark skinned immigrants. The people who voted red are much the same as workers about to be replaced and made useless, excluded by technology. Labor will be replaced by robotics and menial white collar work with AI. Some of the dread that these people feel that makes them mentally distressed is awareness that they will soon be pushed aside due to their technological illiteracy. Their plight is not just mental illness.
