1:38 i doubt this, a lot of gen alpha are already watching and following alt-right contents, they're not even afraid to be openly racist and homophobic anymore. i think gen alpha is going to be *the end* of leftist gains in millenials and gen z, these kiddos will be the first generation that will confidently go back to conservatism.

Who cares about these intellectual distinctions? What these all have in common is too-strong central control. This will always, inevitably, be a thugocracy. Weak central control is far better for the average citizen. More freedom, more accountability by leaders to the people.

We already tried a weak central government in the USA The Articles of Confederation, was weak and made it hard for the federal government to tax on a state level, this system was given up when the government was nearly overthrow by angry farmers Also just say oligarchy not thugocracy

7:00 then what is the anarchocapitalism? if anarchism means transition from capitalism to communism
@happyhapsly4 күн бұрын
an anarchocommunist would call anarchocapitalism a logically bankrupt ideology. the whole point of a capitalist model is that there is always someone with more money than others. the people with more money get to spend that on labor, turning them into bosses, and boss is just another word for ruler hence the anarcho part (meaning no rulers) in anarcho capitalism doesnt really make sense. but if by anarcho you just mean you hate the government and you're a capitalist then it makes sense you call yourself an ancap

@SunAndMoon-zc9vd6 күн бұрын
When you write "nationalised businesses" does it mean that the state took control over the companies and their capital, or that the companies were ensured to be owned by Germans only?

It's very intresting reading through comments on how many people have diffrent takes on politics, from my country stand point (poland) a lot of views that say they are socialist or communist will be found with a lot of backlash. Just becouse of my countries history and how those idiologyis affected it (even if I know the lable dosen't really match the thing that were happening). Right now I'm on crazy ride with shit show in my politics. It's all silly sometimes how couple of people can make a full action movie without any action.

This video is ridden with inaccuracies, over-simplifications, and lies. I included them all in a comprehensive list here: 0:00-1:45: This requires context. The document you read at length is not an enacted law, but rather an internal U.S. policy discussion to address Cuban aggression during the Cold War. The economic strategies you read were not widely accepted (quite the contrary) and did not impact America's geopolitical relationship with Cuba. 1:48: The United States does not "hate" Cuba. The reason the U.S. has not imposed an embargo against Vietnam is due to pragmatic political and economic reforms, the likes of which Cuba has not engaged in with the U.S. states due to its isolationist sentiments. Indeed, the U.S. has tried to rekindle its relationship with Cuba numerous times to no avail. The Helms-Burton Act embargo was imposed on Cuba in 1996 in response to a massive influx of Cubans seeking asylum in the U.S. from political persecution and economic plight. It stipulates that the embargo will be lifted once Cuba improves its human rights conditions. 2:59-3:03: This quote does not apply to the Cuban Revolution. The vast majority of original Cuban revolutionaries did not align themselves with socialist principles. It was only after Fidel Castro seized power, that communism was enshrined into Cuba's constitutional law. In fact, many Cuban revolutionaries were liberal-revisionists, who sought to better apply liberal economic principles to Cuba, as opposed to the Marxists you purport them to have been. 3:31-3:39: It is an opinion, yes, to believe the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Law was moderate, but most historical scholars would beg to differ. CARL caused numerous problems for the infant Cuba, including economic decline, deterioration of diplomatic relations with the United States and several European countries, a loss of a qualified workforce, and an over-reliance on the Soviet Union (a nation that would later leave them in a terrible nine-year famine). Not to mention it was a major violation of civil liberties such as the right to property and due process. 6:24-6:38: The embargo of which you speak was gradually imposed from 1960-1962, beginning with the suspension of sugar imports. While embargos like these do not align with liberal principles like free trade, your over-simplified narrative undermines the nuance of this embargo that ought to be contextualized with the events. 6:43-6:56: Mr. Parrilla's opinion on the embargo is at worst factually incorrect and at best spurious. The United Nation's definition of genocide is, "the intentional destruction of a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group, in whole or in part". While the U.S.'s embargo against Cuba did indeed hinder Cuba's economic growth, it was imposed for purely political reasons (e.g. a statement against Cuban authoritarianism). It is also important to consider that Cuba's poverty is largely a product of its own creation, spawning from its socialist principles, primitive means of production, and isolationism. 9:25-9:43: Humanitarian aid is (as you mentioned) invariably exempt from sanctions under U.S. law. But, even if the Swiss banks had been breaking U.S. law, it would be unlikely for the U.S. to sanction them. For, sanctions are usually reserved for exceptional cases of enemy sympathy. Additional/minor inaccuracies and statements: 2:12: The Spanish claimed Cuba in 1492, a year after their first voyage to the Americas. Nineteen years later, it was conquered, and the first African slaves were brought to the island that same year; 1511. 2:20-2:25: This is an over-simplication of the events leading up to the Spanish-American War. Additional causes, such as Cuba's (then) ongoing battle for independence, and geopolitical events, such as the interception of the De Lome letter, played equal parts in inciting the Spanish-American War. 8:39-8:41: Why do you only paint Cuba as a prosperous and free country when it fits your narrative? Your first source, an article from the New York Times, mentions the violations of free speech rights by the Communist Party, as well as the general discontent with the current government. If the United States violently repressed Coronavirus protests in the same way Cuba did, things would sit quite differently with you, wouldn't they?

These are the arguments presented by the other side, that doesnt necessarily mean i agree with them, i just figured this may be helpful in your understanding Dictatorship is a strong word, people were more involved in local politics that actually made change in their life, which was argued to be even more democratic than the west Even if one disagrees with the USSR, it posed a significant threat to the capitalist system, through the fall of the USSR the imperialist system has dominated all global politics and there is now no resistance against the system, change is way harder to make, and the few socialist areas that remain are either too weak to spread the revolution in the face of american opposition, are uninterested in spreading the revolution, or arent even really socialist to begin with The only way these socialist countries can exist without being overthrown by the west is by having a strong centralized government, otherwise the west will get involved, most socialist countries were either strongly governed but too weak to defend themselves or weakly governed and were toppled by traitors, the only ones able to exist were either powerful and strongly lead or had an already established ally to overlook them, this doesnt mean the revolution has to be inherently authoritarian though, and authoritarianism tend to mean very different things between different countries, as china by some definitions could be considered a 1 party dictatorship or the largest participating democracy in the world with a multi-party system

Word of advice to leftists: grow up. When you have matured mentally and emotionally you will no longer be a leftist. You will learn to take accountability for your own actions that lead to your station in life instead of blaming some other group for it. You will value things like law and order and public safety. You will realize that family is important.

I appreciate this video, thank you. I’m struggling with just being full of anger at the state of the world with nowhere for it to go, and it’s so easy to go after my right wing friends and unintentionally make them feel threatened. It’s hard to balance caring about them as friends and being so eager to destabilize or even destroy their political views. I have a massive “leftists are the only right ones” complex but I struggle to see how that’s a bad thing sometimes.
