Nice approach. But, what about CTE difference between the cured resin and plaster? Would it not lead to cracks later?

I'm just learning about how to do this, was thinking wouldn't it be easier to have the person sit on a swivel chair and then rotate them instead of walking around them? Just thought that would be easier..
@Cloakfiend17 күн бұрын
@@baigmusic no not really you wany to avoid any movement and also the shadows change if you rotate them. Ideally you want them. Sititng with their head resting on something as even breathing moves it a little. Some people are better at sittinh stilp than others but kids are the worst. With good lighting you can just film the face quickly and it mostly comes out ok. Hope that helps!

Hey, just curious, why do video and extract frames, instead of taking photos?
@Cloakfiend6 ай бұрын
As i have more choice and i can cover the area quicker than photos and you tend to move less ireatically as well. Photos are fine but what if a few essential ones you thought were ok were, not? With video you also have the option of using different photos from the footage at more even distances apart leading to a better scan.
@beerdragon45836 ай бұрын
Pro tip: mix up some regular resin like smooth-on, pour it in the hollow print and then roto-cast it by hand. Do a little bit at a time. This will help cure whatever resin residue left. Do this a couple of times. Let it set for a few hours until it’s fully cured. THEN use plaster to fill it up. Your welcome.
@Cloakfiend6 ай бұрын
Now i would just cut a large piece out and cure it properly. This works well on fdm, but the whole uncured resin in cavities makes it a nono for resin.
