I have a Fuel Question that's bugging me for a while about the Delorean's & K-Jet. I've been studying the PRV & Bosch K-Jet for past year, & I recognize so many things that I want to join DMC- Talk to run some things by the Delorean owners to help, but I don't have Delorean, & if my health wasn't so bad I'd have 1 for each day of the week! However, I think my very different ideas would be dismissed in haste on the forum. I even found the 1976 SAE paper on the PRV & it confirms another issue I suspected & inherent problem with the PRV, that has probably been overlooked by the aftermarket Delorean parts guru's, probably due to R&D costs of this performance part that I already got a cost on & is major money. I know for certain DMCH looked into it, & decided for strategic reasons not to pursue it as it would also greatly benefit the PRV & reduce major maintanace costs! Anyway, regardless if the Delorean owners use ethanol-free gas, its still missing at least the sulfur component of the old regular fuel to benefit & fully protect the entire K-Jet system. Sulfur in fuel was a lubricant & had other conditioning properties to protect the fuel system & now sulfur is almost removed from fuel due to environmental regulations. My question;, is there a consensus among Delorean owners to use any kind of fuel conditioner at each fill up???? Is it a known & heavily debated issue???? Not just a PEA additive, or run of the mill fuel additive from the parts store like Sea Foam or Lucus, but at least a boutique blended fuel additive at each fill up that has multiple unique components like an upper cylinder lube that contains Anti Wear & Friction Modifiers that will also protect those very unique oscillating injector valves along with an anti-corrosive, & most importantly a certain form of PIB Polyisobutylene that I really believe will enhance the spray pattern of those very unique mechanical Bosch Injectors that oscillate at a high frequency, but again, today's fuel is worse to make those injectors have a good spay pattern due too viscocity, vaporization, specific gravity, ect, I discovered Bosch recognized this also with the KJet injectors & came out with an enhanced CIS injector in the mid 80's called the Shrouded Bosch Injector for VW's to introduce air along the injector for better atomization, but it can't be retrofitted to other K Jets, due to the air passage in the VW & other makes manifold design since it had the air passage. So, do the Delorean guys use any high end fuel additive or, at least run Shell V Power Nitro+ which has some but not all of the components I am thinking of that all K-Jets should be using? I may even as my question on TurboBricks to the Volvo guys that still run K-Jets. Even brand new KJet injectors can benefit from these different fuel additive components that are used in commercial & industrial diesel fuels & is easily obtainable!
@chrispompano29 күн бұрын
See You Tube video: VW Audi - Air Shrouded Injectors VWG Retro Technical Bosch knew the older pre 1985 cis injectors were inefficient. So to achieve the uniform spray pattern a known fuel component used in diesel fuel can be added & has been tested & already has epa, carb & TX air resource board approval for use in diesel, but gas brands don't use it, however, Shell V Power Nitro+ might!
