Awesome video thank you. I’ve been wanting to do the twin stick upgrade. Do you know if anyone makes a kit to improve the low range ratio? I’d like something like a 3:1. I don’t want to do the 205/203 doubler (Too heavy). Thanks

Great video thanks! I bought a 84 K20 this last spring with a SM465 and been partially restoring the truck. Got it on the road a few weeks ago its really noisy in 1st and 2nd gear, 3rd gear is quiet. Down shifting back to 1st and 2nd isnt easy either. It doesnt pop out of any gear but the shifter rattle and the gear noise isnt right. I changed the oil it looked good and I used some Redline GL4 oil which seamed to help with down shifting but I think ill have to rebuild it. I think alot of guys were just puting in GL5 80/90 gear oil and its destroying the brass synchros over time .

I see a fair amount of variance in prices for seal kits, anywhere from high twenty dollars up to almost sixty dollars. Where did you get your seal kit?

Does the front driveshaft yoke get one of those little star seals? Before the nut goes on? I don’t know if mine is missing or it simply just doesn’t get one there?

Rebuild series helped a ton for a visual walk through. Thanks. Here is a link with a pretty decent breakdown. Starts around page 525 for the 205. www.liberatedmanuals.com/TM-9-2320-289-34.pdf

A factory service manual would say use tool #XXX-Z or suitable. This is why tool boxes bigger that a refrigerator still don't have all of the tools needed. And older product tools are missing because the guy quit and it left in his box! Suitable is what fits & works! Don't short yourself, ever if you get the job done. ASE Master tech since 78, retired.

Thanks for the video... I have a question. I am planning to install it on a G-Wagon vehicle(vg150 t/c -> np205 t/c). Is it(np205) possible to exchange the left and right gear assemblies? On the G-Wagon, the rear propeller shaft is located on the right.(not center axle...)

Semper Fi. I have a '68 C/10 Stepside with a 292 L6 and SM465 Tranny. Sometimes, when I'm cruising a sidestreet in Third, the whole shifter will pop out, and then I'm cruising in Neutral. I only notice it when I add accelerator. What gives? If I keep a hand on the shiftstick, it stays. Always stays in Second and Fourth. I do occasionally use First to get out of deep dirt in my back driveway.
