Matt at those dyno guys has been saying for years to just use the Harley stuff unless you true the bottom end. If I were to upgrade my sportster to something with an M8, I would just stick with whatever recommendation that he uses. I know he works a lot with you guys and has a great relationship. I have learned a lot from watching your videos and Matt's videos on facebook.

I can absolutely answer honestly. I have came across of few of them in my travels over the years & all of them have been on bikes I've seen since brand new off our showroom floor & deep into their service life. I have never seen a bad one & all the engines are still going string without any issues whatsoever. I would happy to recommend them to anyone. As for Brand specific, I don't have a favourite at all.

Thanks very much for answering that. I service my bike more than average and $30 each time a filter I was looking into one. But like a lot of these products a lot is marketing and not true facts. But thanks for your experience with them

Hi master tech Miller. Quick question what hot idle rpm to you set the 131SE. Stage 4 kit in a 2021 fat bob. Do you set it at 980 hot RPM. Or hier
@MasterTechMiller7 күн бұрын
Anywhere between 980 & 1050rpm usually. Just depends on how the engine responds to the IAC settings along with the pipe choice & Camshaft.

Mr master tech Miller. On a stage 4 kit with the SE 517 cam is it a very reliable engine kit. Would you change anything in that kit. And also. The screming eage pro street tunner with the stage 4 calibration tune. Is it good. Is it safe or do you recommend something different. And do you recommend a different cam. The bike is a 2021 fat bob. And also it has. A 2 into 1. TBR. Pipe. It's a 131 build stage 4. With a 517 se cam
@MasterTechMiller7 күн бұрын
The engine is great & just as reliable as a stock engine if assembled & tunes correctly. The SE 517 Cam that comes with the kit is absolutely fine to run. It delivers great results with smooth torque. For those wanting extra, I highly suggest swapping to either the CR512 for that harder hitting bottom end & midrange with a great peak HP increase. Some people may want the smoother CR515 which is much like the CR512 but adds a little more peak HP. The SE Pro Street Tuner is great for the SE 131ci engine kit running the 517 cam but that's it! There is no where near enough adjustment to properly tune an aftermarket Camshaft.
@iginogasparini33697 күн бұрын
@MasterTechMiller i have a powervistion. Dynojet. With a custom calibration from fuel moto for the 131SE stage 4 kit. And on the power vision calibration the hot idle is set to 980. Is the powervistion calibration will be better then the pro street tuner stage 4 calibration. Do you recommend staying with the harley calibration. Or would the calibration with the powervistion be better with the SE517 cam

@@MasterTechMiller it sounds great 👍 As I do long rides though it might be too loud for me 😨 One thing I have never seen on KZbin, is what would happen if someone installed a cam like this with stock pipes and mufflers. Would there be so much back pressure that the bike would basically explode when you started it ? :) It would be really interesting to see what dyno numbers you got and also what the bike would sound like when idling
@MasterTechMiller11 күн бұрын
@Crowbar381 If this Cam was installed on a bike with the Factory exhaust system it would still start, run & ride however the performance would be heavily restricted due to the lack of exhaust gas flow. The factory headers with a set of aftermarket slip on mufflers work reasonably well for a basic setup. Maybe that is in an option for you? Noise levels are lower than most aftermarket full systems

@mastertechmiller. Have you noticed any issues with the high output 121? My 2024 CVO ST at 1500 miles is getting a new motor. Dealer said it had "worn internals". Not a reassuring answer. Others reported the same issue and are getting cyclinders replaced if not the entire motor.
@MasterTechMiller12 күн бұрын
@sleepingpanda8927 I haven't heard anything specifically about the High Output 121 but we did have an issue with our demo 117ci Center cooled M8 which was due to a stack up of events that lead to a blocked breather system (on the transmission cover). No harm was done to the engine. It was only ridden very short distances & never really got to operating temps & as a result the oil developed moister in it which then helped to block the breather assembly.

I had the AIM SDR lockup originally… but kinda got scared away from horror stories about grenaded gearboxes from lockups on stock gearboxes. Landed up changing for the SE clutch pack and springs along with the muller power pull. It’s the smoothest and lightest clutch. It’s like butter. And a nice friction zone .. SUPER easy for low speed work. Little bit wider of a friction zone which for fast shifts isn’t as ideal .. but still can just do a mini pull on clutch and little power cut with the right hand and shift fast as u want
@geraldgoodiii699318 күн бұрын
I left the stock oil pump in my 2023 road glide when I did the 124. If u do a big bore kit .. do the SE pump and plate. Or the SS etc. only do the SS one with a done up crank. The stock pump won’t keep up on the scavenge side .. u won’t sump but your crankcase pressure is gonna suffer

would dual pipe setup be good or is going 2-1 better route to take
@MasterTechMiller22 күн бұрын
2-1 is a better performance choice for sure. The OEM Headers with a decent set of slip in mufflers like Khrome Werks is another great option if you prefer that look
@CodyMcDonald8922 күн бұрын
@ I was 2-1 exhaust last bike build and I thought on longer rides it was a little annoying above 70+ mph. So I have rinehart DBX45 slip ons and just scored on a rinehart dual slim for $300 yesterday that I’m going to install today to get rid of the cat on bike. My question is do I need to purchase inserts on the slip ons to regain back pressure. Fuel moto company told me I would need to do that and would be a great exhaust system to support 140hp or so

Great video Tommy. Thank you just quick question. Is it as reliable as a thunder max
@MasterTechMiller24 күн бұрын
@robertfagan8833 Absolutely! If not more reliable if I'm concerned. I have pulled out & replaced over 15 Thundermax units over the years. If you compare that to how many OEM Ecm's I've had to replace at only around 5 or 6 in the same time frame, I'd say Thundermax are unreliable. This ECU is new to the market but has over 15 years of R&D in the automotive tuning scene so I'm optimistic

What exactly does this do and will it work on my 2018 breakout 114?
@MasterTechMiller24 күн бұрын
It's a Camshaft install. The Camshaft dictates the power characteristics of the engine by controlling the intake & exhaust valve timing events. This video briefly ran through the install process & showed how much of an increase the CR485 Camshaft provided over the stock Camshaft. The CR485 Camshaft is best described as a mid to top HP cam. There are other cams out there on the market that are designed to work in the lower RPM range & are best know as torque cams. There are also Cams that try to blend the best of both worlds together. In short, Yes! This Camshaft will work if installed in your 2018 114ci Breakout. It generally requires a few additional add on performance parts such as the upgrade 55mm alloy intake manifold, larger 6.2gps fuel injectors, a high flow air filter & exhaust system

So are you saying automatic or manual is better
@MasterTechMiller24 күн бұрын
I'm saying the OEM automatic units found in later model Harley's are great. They are beat suited for all high performance street applications. Manual ones have there place in dedicated race applications.
