Actually they are quite easy to make from a strip of stainless(brass , copper , steel, 1,5 to 2,0 mm thick) sheet metal or even a suitable handle of an old stainless steel fork or spoon.

It would help Do you have any additional diagram, or information on size , shape, angle / bend on how I can correctly make this lure or what tools to use. I have looked & not been able to find any for sale. That would help a lot Thank you

@@anchovyal3606 Sorry , I do not have , back in the day I've mailordered three lures from someone, who had copied them after vintage originals himself. And I had used pictures from an article in a German angling magazine, that was issued in 2006: raubfisch.de/praxis-und-geraete-alte-eisen-bachteufel-765/ The "Bachteufel" was designed by a tackle shop owner from Cologne named A. Schrader during the late 1940's, during the 1950's and 1960's various companies took over the production, yet it is a very rare vintage lure nowadays. The guy , whom I bought his copies from back in the day , is named Peter Taudor, his contact data was stated in that article : Phone: 0049 6439/353 (from abroad to Germany) Email: [email protected] But 17 years have passed since, we don't know, whether he is still selling his lures or if he's even still there. Sorry but this is all, I can do to possibly help you. Nevertheless it is not that hard to make such lures, it does nor even require exact measurements, just a rectangular strip of sheet metal of about1:6 width to length ratio is enough. One does not even neccessarely need a front or rear taper to the sheet metal blank and instead of the angled belly one may also bend a smal half circle to make up for the deeper belly(more difficult in my opinion)with the front and rear end slightly pointing upward. A lot may be left to experiment. As far as for the swimming action, the lure would tightly wiggle on retrieve and on the essential, occassional drop during retrieve it falls spinning around it's own length axis(this is, why I like to attach swivels to the front end), an action said to coax trout strikes quite a bit. Best greetings , Dieter

Having fished multiple s in different sizes and colors, kzbin.infoUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 this is by far my favorite. One thing to be aware of is the sided willow blade. One side is silver and the other is the green/orange shown. This is not bad, just unconventional. In terms of fishing, I have found the lure works just fine without a tail like a craw or shad. That addition is up to you. Also, the hook part where you attach the swivel snap or tie the line is a problem on baits these days, since it's able to slide up and down. However this lure seems to be tight enough that that doesn't happen often, and you can solve it by putting a thin slice of medical tube over the hook before attaching the line. Like others have said, it's really magic on a good windy day.

Thank you , but I'm sorry to disappoint you. I've quit on making videos years ago, since I've somehow lost my passion for it. Went through family issues , as I had to take care of two seniors suffering from dementia. They're gone now, but my passion does not return. Also I do not do a lot of lure fishing anymore due to health issues, after almost 43 1/2 years in the metal industry now my bones have become too sore to be walking the water's edge for hours casting lures. I'd rather sit in a chair awaiting my bobbers to get pulled down or listen to strike alarms on stationary rods. So the only tackle I'm making these days are sinkers and chumming baskets , no more lures, and I do not even have a decent camera anymore , anyway. Tight lines still , Dieter

Thank you very much , but I have lost my passion for making videos somehow due to the ailments of life. I do not even make lures anymore and also I do not have the great passion for lure fishing anymore, that I used to have. But this is, because at 60 years of age and being into the 44th year as a machine operator in industrial tool construction my body and bones have become increasingly sore, so that I much prefer to do stationary fishing sitting in a chair and with my rods placed on their rod rests these days, as I can't walk around the lake for hours anymore with a spinning rod. When I do on rare occassions , I most likely carry a small collapsible stool with me to sit on while retrieving the lures, as I can't stand on my feet for a longer period of time anymore without having back pain. Nevertheless I had already briefly considered to make a few videos about casting lead sinkers in tea warmer candle casings or spent ammo casings or about a very successful stocker trout rig, the so-called "lifter method", but I do not even have a camera anymore, as my old one is not functional anymore and intentionally I do not even own a smartpfone. Maybe, some day I will do videos again, but I reckon, that my passion for it has gone forever. Thanks a bunch for your kind comment , anyway. Tight lines , Dieter

Gute Nacht.
