Yeah, it was an annoying choice made by Funimation back in the day to keep them consistent with the RRA's actual androids even though it's wrong. A lot of dubs in other languages translated it properly.

I'm pretty sure its impossible to resurrect Raditz at this point anyways. He's been dead for 20 years by the start of Super. He definitely wasn't good enough to keep his body and avoid being sent to the soul scrubber for reincarnation but he also wasn't bad like Frieza where he has to be punished for the rest of eternity to repent. Chances are by now, his soul was reincarnated into someone else meaning that the Dragon Balls couldn't bring him back. The Super Dragon Balls could considering they can literally bring back people completely erased from existance by Zeno but there isn't really a story motivation for anyone to go "hey let's go through the massive trouble of collecting all of the Super Dragon Balls to ressurect Goku's evil, weak brother who died 20 years ago!"

i'd say this is the problem with having a world where anyone can be brought back from the dead: it raises too many questions about why certain people aren't brought back. Like, you'd think Vegeta, the vain and proud saiyan prince would have wished his people back into existence at some point in order to rule over them with his Super saiyan strength.

In my opinion, it was either a wild-type cardiovirus that Goku acquired by eating animals on Earth or it was a virus he acquired on Yardrat/Namek (either directly from the atmosphere or by interacting with alien lifeforms). The idea that Goku acquired it from eating some animals / engineered dinosaurs (remember that these things are running around in Dragonball's earth) is the simplest explanation. Also, like you said, there are many real-world viruses that can infect & damage heart tissue (influenza, SARS, Epstein-Barr, Parvovirus, etc.). Goku's Saiyan physiology may have slowed it down for many decades, while the virus was hidden in remote wildlife away from people. Eventually, just like Ebola broke out in the 1970's in Africa, this DBZ cardio-virus broke out into populated areas (maybe as a result of people moving from cities to live in jungles/woods). The time-period when Goku came down with symptoms also coincides nicely with Yardrat. Yardrat appears to have a strange atmosphere & Goku (unlike Vegeta - who was exposed to alien planets and other aliens) was raised on Earth. If it was from Yardrat/Namek it's possible the virus mutated inside of Goku as it was slowly attacking his heart before it became infectious to full blown humans. Since Goku lives out in the mountains (away from populated areas) maybe he gave the mutated Yardrat virus to animals and it got reintroduced back to humans (remember that in this scenario, this is a virus alien to Earth, but Saiyan genetics are uniquely plastic - allowing them to even mate with different alien species). As a real-world example there were 2 lineages of our recent Pandemic virus and their genetics are pointing to an isolated person giving a low infectious virus to animals (like racoon dogs), the virus mutating becoming more infectious, and the animals giving it back to humans in wet markets.

I knew I heard Black Sabbath riffs in some of those tracks, even as a tiny little 7 year old because my father had been a fan of them. Stratovarius really was done dirty though. I cannot actually believe Challengers, Move Forward Fearlessly and Warrior From an Unknown Land - my three favourite tracks from B1, 2, and 3 - are all Stratovarius songs. I think you got the "retconned by super" point wrong. Infact, it supports Turles statements about low class saiyans looking alike. If you pay attention closely to the saiyans in then background, you'll see DOZENS of Saiyans with a similar hair style to Vegeta just as an example. Even the Saiyan Bardock speaks too looks like a slightly shorter haired version of Vegeta, theyre not all identical but are almost the same or just tweaked. Because of this, its actually consistant with Turles's statement.
