No long haul flights going on here! But I loved this class as a bit of movement and mobilisation, a lovely alternative to a little yoga session for a change. Thank you!

Painful...
@TheALifeАй бұрын
are you able to modify it so it is more comfortable? Elevate heels or hold on to something ?
@ivylifeisbeautifulАй бұрын
@@TheALife thanks for replying. I started to practice deep squat 2 years ago and now I can do it with feet on the floor but my back is still rounded, my butt tilts between legs and to put my elbow on the floor like you did in the video is impossible, I tried. My elbow is half meter from the floor 😖 Even though I can hold myself in the squat position it is still uncomfortable position for me. I am very unflexible person.
@embermarchand8762Ай бұрын
i cannot get down that low
@TheALifeАй бұрын
Does it help to try the modifications? you can elevate your heels a fair bit
@b.tilson5198Ай бұрын
So glad you popped up in my feed! I just now subscribed! But I do have a question before I start the challenge: When I try to deep squat, my knees hurt even when my heels are off the floor. Will this improve, or am I in danger of injuring myself, in your opinion?
@TheALifeАй бұрын
it is important you can tell the difference between pain and PAIN what I mean by that is discomfort is ok to feel but you don't want to feel any sharp, strong pains. Also notice the time frame you can hold it before it becomes to "painful". Hopefully with the challenge that time frame increases. Thanks for the support - keep us posted how you go
@Aquapura970Ай бұрын
This is great information. We do this squat at yoga class and im one of the few you cannot put my feet on the floor. Its good to know that there is a starting point to learn this amazing squat.

Thank you! Great, great class and instructions. I thought it best that I watch the whole class first tonight and tomorrow I will actually do the class! I'm older and while I might not be able to complete these moves perfectly right away, I believe I'll be able to build upon them as you noted and get stronger and more flexible.

Exactly, all you need to do is find your starting point for each exercise. even if you modify it or start with less weight or range that is totally fine - your body will improve as you practice the pattern! Excited to hear how you go!

Unfortunately range of mobility has zero to do with hips needing to be replaced. Its genetics and sugar consumption. If you are lifting weight all the time it actually destroys cartilage and healthy tissue over time as well.
@TheALife2 ай бұрын
I couldn’t disagree more. Genetics is only a small part of it, our sedentary lifestyle is a huge part of it. Our joints need loading, our bones need it too.

Yeah, I do something similar (but also with obstacles). Yet it's only real flow when it's intuitive. Once others emulate your movement it's not flow anymore for them. Flow is unique to every individual.
