Great update that works however ...... My laptop performed very well after the installation even with a 6th gen processor. The September 2024 update struggled to install but after a bit of persistence it did eventually install. However the October 2024 update downloaded but failed to install and was left with an error message. Running the new update troubleshooter dropped me into the Microsoft trap, it performed the compatibility check which off course it failed. I did go back to my last good restore point, that got me back up and running. I then decided that this was going to be an uphill battle and rolled Windows 11 off and went back to Windows 10. Have tried Linux (Zorin) which I liked but that also is not for me but I could get by. Looks like I will have to buy a new laptop. Really enjoy your channel thanks Brian

Holy crap this actually worked like a charms, thanks man!! I did get an error the first time when I chose to remove everything, so I just did what you did and kept all files and apps. Now my 2013 13” MacBook Pro has both the latest macOS Sequoia update and now Windows 11 upgrading from 10 haha. I’ll never let this poor thing retire now. 😭

You might have just saved me the expense of purchasing a new processor, motherboard and memory at the least. I'm crossing my finger that this will work for me. 😃 The thing is that many of us have pretty stable and good systems hardware wise that are a bit older. In my case I am working on a 7th gen Intel chip that is on a pretty fine gaming computer and it sure would be a shame to have to retire it, considering it is perfectly fine and reliable and awfully stable. Why fix what ain't broken.

I have Windows 11 on two laptops, one is supported the other is a gen 2 unsupported. They are both on 23h2 atm. Co pilot , edge, and all other crap removed or disabled, security updates are on and feature updates are off. Just from following advice from your channel. Thanks 🙏👍👍👍 the fake hardware restrictions are a stupid idea, much like vista from xp, but at least there are workarounds for some this time.

I downloaded Windows 11 from someone on the KZbin video link and made a bootable USB When the USB booted up all my old Windows 7 sweep-out formats and the new Windows 11 came up very nicely and worked well. I wonder why Windows 11 does not ask me for the register key

@@_Ziyad.YT_ i did it on i5 6500 when 22h2 was released and i got higher cpu usage and freezing, it was not better than windows 10, after i updated windows 11 22h2 it was working fine with a little higher cpu usage but it was fine, a little problem i've seen it was the ui lagging, idk why, its been lagging since windows 11 21h2, let me know if it works good, maybe i will update too

@@_Ziyad.YT_ your computer system is better than mine. My computer system is AMD 3.4 GH and 16 GB RAM Windows 7 but I try to download Win11 and make a USB boot. I set up the new Windows 11 and all run very well. Just so you know, you must back up all files you need to before you set Windows 11 After setup is done, you should pay close attention to Windows 11 because Windows may shut down anytime. I should work back to Windows 7 better but some programs do not work well with Windows 7 such as Google Web Have a happy weekend and Merry Christmas.

I have a Dell Optiplex 3050 that has secure boot and TPM 2.0 enable, it also has 16GB of DDR4 ram, a Samsung EVO Plus 250GB NVME for boot drive and a Samsung 1TB QVO SSD as storage, but because the processor is an Intel Core I5 7500 which is not supported by windows 11, I used rufus to installed windows 11 24H2 on my Dell with secure boot and TPM 2.0 enable and it works perfect, it also fully updates.

Don't forget to back up your entire system if making risky steps, so you can recover it quickly. I have these clones ready if I broke something.

Hmm moved on from the below - and using the english united states ISO the keeps files settings and apps option is now available - but I'm a bit worried about pressing the go button - I'm not in the US an am concerned it will not only give me US english generally but might screw up the keyboard so I don't get (for example) the £ symbol when I press that key on my UK keyboard. Thanks for this, however I'm finding when I get to the "what to keep" screen the keep files, settings and apps option is greyed out...but this is what I want. A bit of surfing seems to suggest this is a mismatch between the language of the downloaded ISO and that on my machine. My machine claims english united kingdom and I downloaded the english international version (as there does not seem to be an english uk version to download). I cancelledto upgrade at that point. Any idea how to solve this issue? Thanks in advance.

No, you have to switch to Linux with a Core 2 Quad processor.

could i just add it seems 24H2 has a tendency to sleep USB ports and it doesnt appear that you can do much about it. Annoyingly it turns off my Bose USB connected speakers. I have gone through the USB power options and everything else i can find however, the speakers sleep if they are not in use after 1 minute meaning i have to turn them back on again. Its not a great task but its constant and a lot of others are moaning about it.

This is great, however I'm curious if it bypasses the SSE 4.2/ POPCNT requirement on older CPU's that forces older hardware to bootloop on initial restart into 24H2. I haven't seen anything that covers that issue. I know that the old registry changes and the RUFUS method will not work if your CPU does not have SSE 4.2. My current CPU only supports SSE 4.0, identified through CPU-Z or HWiNFO, and no matter what I've tried the results are all the same, gets through the loading process, on 24H2 desktop startup, restarts again, and reverts back to 23H2 current build.

@@Luna-oz9gr I've tried multiple methods, via USB thumb drive, ISO to DVD, RUFUS, Reg editing across both an older AMD and Intel CPU'd systems at this point, even the method here in this video, which I thank BRI for greatly, have all failed thus far due to a multi-issue, I've had UEFI/Legacy BIOS issues, the SSE4.2/POPCNT failures and most recently now a failure to recognize a boot drive at all. I haven't tried the emulation rout yet, but I am now testing image duplication across drives with a known working system.

Can you please do a tutorial of a clean boot windows 11 install on unsupported hardware, the rufus boot tool no longer works.? Well it dosent for me anymore.? Rufus did patch the installation usb. It still asks me all the patching options for the installation but i cant get past the TPM restrictions anymore and i cannot find anyway to make a clean windows 11 from boot anymore, i am pulling my hair out. I have a similar script that i run as admin before i do the upgrade that i found a couple of years ago on the web. After running the one line script it installs with the server installation exactly the same as that flyby one you have but i really need to do a completely clean install. Do you know of any tool that removes all that checking for tpm and seure boot, i cant even swap the instal.wim anymore into a windows10 install as that no longer works... I need a way to make a bootable win11 that will work on unsupported hardware.. plse plse, i hope you can help....?? 🙏😁☕️

Do I need my partition as GPT before upgrading? My HP laptop passes except for the processor and has a 1 TB M.2 SSD boot drive and 1TB HD (I believe it’s not SSD). The M.2 SSD after cloning for upgrading, shows as MBR for the partition. Very nice instructional video for a ‘NEW’ method! Sure looks simpler!

I'm having a tough time with this. The app looks different for me. Instead of the patch option, it says start. I have extra options and the process isn't the same. Ultimately, I get the message that says my Laptop can't be upgraded. It has a pentium n3710 @ 1.6 ghz. and 4gb of ram. I get a pop up about POPCNT, but not sure I fully understand.

Howdy. My laptop is so old it has BIOS Legacy only. The 24H2 product server way rolls back at reboot. 23H2 will install, though. I would like to see a workaround to install 24H2. Best Regards.

Thanks for the video. Interestingly, I had to disable AdGuard to download the ISO. I was getting an undefined error with the FIDO process. Went to Microsoft's site and it told me I was banned. "We are unable to complete your request at this time. Some users, entities and locations are banned from using this service. For this reason, leveraging anonymous or location hiding technologies when connecting to this service is not generally allowed." When I turned off the ad-blocker, I was able to download the ISO.

The update has nothing to see with unsupported HW it's just the installation that is impossible ,when the OS is installed, you update the system which has nothing to see with the type of processor running you mother board except if Microsoft has made a special trick to bother en users .

On unsupported hardware you'll get security & usual updates but you won't get major feature updates. I'm running 23h2 on unsupported hardware. I get monthly updates just fine but I haven't (and won't) get the update for 24h2. If I want 24h2, I'll have to use one of the many workarounds & install from ISO myself.
