Another awesome informative video and yes you need to avoid clicking on links in an email and it's best to delete the email and report it as a spam email so that if the same sender sends a email in the future it will go into the spam folder. We also need to be careful with what websites we access because they can make fake versions of genuine websites. Even browser extensions we need to be cautious even if they are downloaded from the browser official extension store. Thanks 👍 for sharing this information and video.

"De-bloated" Windows ISOs seem to have been a bit of a thing lately. Judging by the comments on some YT vids I've seen punting them there's quite a lot of people who wouldn't think twice about downloading a hacked-up OS from a file sharing site or a google drive link and installing it.

thanks for the upload. my parents experienced some of this and they never learn. i just changed the router's DNS to something that blocks malware and ads. they kinda hate me that they can't access some sites but at least i can sleep soundly 🥰

That's why I'm totally paranoid about any third party software. If I'm not sure about it I run it on sandbox on a second pc, upload it to VT and scan it with 4 different MRT's

There are some download sites full of ads and some could have malware. Also, don't download pirated software. There are fake pop us that say your computer has been infected with a virus when in fact their is no virus

What I do with emails is have a main address that I NEVER share, and use email aliases (Simplelogin for example) to create accounts, contact people, etc. This way, if a company had a data breach or whatever, I'll know who it was and I only need to take actions against that company/email alias, my main account will never be compromised. Also note that all of the emails will be received on my main account so it's convenient also :)

I have an old laptop running XP that I use specifically to run old software for which there is no modern equivalent. And no, it doesn't go anywhere near the Internet. I will not be getting Windows 11 regardless of how much MS wants me to. I would have to throw away and replace three perfectly good PCs currently running W10. No way. One, I run offline anyway. It will stay that way. The other two are being converted to Linux. I wasn't going to be getting Windows 11 anyway, long before Recall was announced; but Recall has ensured that I won't be getting it. It seems to me that Recall is malware built right into the operating system!

$30 for a year (per PC) to continue updates to Windows 10 though at least Oct 2026, seems to be a reasonable price to avoid Windows 11 (aka Vista 2.0). I just wonder when MS will actually provide a method for people to pay for that. I suspect starting sometime in the 3rd quarter next year.

I used a free online facial recognition identification program after I came across a photo of me with someone I semi recognized. The pictures immediately prior and after had someone famous standing with me and was taken at the same event. The program only required an upload of a face picture, no downloads that I was aware of. My next scheduled AV scan came up with three malware programs.

Linux is not immune from this sort of stuff. I wonder why people think Linux is immune to viruses
@Britec092 күн бұрын
Less likely to get infected on Linux, but your right, Linux is not immune

Just like MacOS, people believe that can't be hacked either but it can.

Immutable ( see Atomic ) systems are 'immune' from any nefarious running process installing itself or remaining on a system after a reboot. "Theoretically" they are "Virus Proof". ChromeOS, SteamOS 3 and Fedora Linux Atomic are three examples of Immutable systems.

@@notjustforhackers4252 What about Chrome apps/extensions? They can't be malicious?
@ghostdragon25932 күн бұрын
No OS is immune no matter what someone tells you. At the end of the day an OS is just software and just like any software it can be exploited at any time.

Windows 11 doesn't give the option of horizontal or "vertical file folders" like there were in Windows 10. Further, my Windows 11 23H2 brand-new Dell XPS 8960 bought in February 2024, crashed at least twice and made the PC operate strangely particularly with my external hard drives. I cured the problem by downloading Windows 10 22H2 and the PC has been running smoothly ever since. From my experience, I am going to avoid Windows 11 at all costs as from my perspective, Windows 11 itself "is a virus".

8:20 from a quick glance at the results, that file is likely fine. The term 'hacktool' is in reference to 'hacking' other programs (cracks, keygens, patches, trainers, etc.), not a definitely malicious file that would 'hack' the user.
