Aster's description of it as a "nightmare comedy" is as good a generic label as anybody has come up with. In that regard, I was interested in the casting of so many comedic actors known for their work in comedy and horror on TV: Amy Ryan and Nathan Lane (both from "Only Murders in the Building"), Bill Hader ("SNL," "Barry"), Patti Lupone ("American Horror Story"). That tells you something about the tone Aster was going for...

I don’t really care for these movies, i watch them for fun with my brain turned off just like you said but this one was WAY better than fast 9. Fast 9 was just awful. This one wasn’t bad. It was better than the last two actually i think.

lol i feel the opposite. the anime has a disaster pacing, lots of filler or mediocre episodes. the live action cut all that out, i worn people all the time if you dont mind going through a lot of boring mid content to get to moments of peak sure watch the anime. the live action will save you a lot of time tho en hits the same so probably watch it instead

One thing western adaptations get right that the Japanese don't is the need to remove the over-acting. they toned everything down by getting the characters right for the most part.

No no no, you’ve looked at this so superficially For one thing - Completely missed her first pregnancy was lost!!! That will often break couples up, even though she didn’t disclose it to the Djin. Sure you boil it down to love and loss, but she doesn’t lose him in the end at all… he loses her. Again he loses the love of his life. I just want to add some things as a person who has never played the Halo game. I hated Halo, the show. even not ever playing the game. But, I have looked into why the show was hated so much since then, because, I hated it. Master Chief is a pretty high-ranking person, just below Officer. Why would this person ever have access to a prisoner? The introduction of McKee? (sp) what the hell? This show make me HAVE to go play the games just so I know the story. Master Chief is not a GOD. He never claimed to be. I still have never played the games. I feel like these "people" should be fighting machines. Instead, I get emotional monsters that had an emotional chip in them and once removed, made them hormonal monsters it makes no sense to me.

Adaptations require cutting because the medium is changing. You can not translate anything without loss in translation. You rother get a live action or you dont.

Very interesting take on the movie,but I definitely have to disagree with the part about everything just going on in his head when most of these things do take place in the film. He did get shot at and assaulted which lead him to being hit by a car and he did end up at the home, definitely not a hospital with the screwed up pre teen and to place Jeeves as a security guard at the hospital? How specific, if that’s the case we can all just create a story line.

Trying to explain the plot of Matrix 4 without explaining what the different things in the movie represent doesn’t really work. The matrix triology worked without thinking about each entities real world counterpart, but in the fourth one the in universe plot is irellevant to understanding the film

It cost a lot in terms of energy to rebuild neo and trinity , not actual money within the machine world, and that’s why the machine conflict happened, because it was the analyst against the old “father” of matrix

Pretty good action fare however it’s not without its faults. The script wasn’t as smart as past films in the series. It just felt a little too fantastical reaching to appeal to a younger hyper intensive social media engaged audience. Smart action films in general are going to the wayside as more theater seats are being occupied by a younger generation most fixated on answering dms than sitting through a 2 hr plus action film with a smart nuanced plot and script. I believe the filmmakers knew this when writing Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning part 1. I agree. We don’t need a part 2. A missed opportunity on so many levels.

My thing about the live action is that I agree it wasn’t perfect but its what made me start watching the anime as I wanted to find out the things that were left out, so in a way it was sort of an advertisement to the anime

You definitely didn't watch the same show I or everyone watched. It was probably the best anime adaptation ever. The best it could have done for a series like One Piece. Cmon OP is a crazy anime to even try to adapt.

Apparently I believe it Netflix give more than 8 episodes for these shows. Surely things will be much better than what they have to do now. As in having no choice but to try their best and squeeze everything into 8 episodes. Like it's not rlly their fault. People are just not mindful lol like instead of complaining on what we didn't get, why not appreciate the goods that we got. How privileged to be part of the fandom. Like..I watched Live action n then hopped onto the anime.

Without this explanation, I would not have gotten the entire plot. Not enough time was spent on the deceit for me to follow. That's on the director and editor.
