You dont really need to know the details of the "impossible task" since chapter 1-4 shows John Wick very successfully killing all the bosses of the High Table. The task will be an anti climax. They should just do work on the rest of the characters like Donnie Yen's to display how the cycle of death and violence never ends.

Because remember, when asked Wick said he wanted to live to remember his wife. It is everyone else telling him death is his only peace. I will only add that if Chad and Reeves decided they have a story worth continuing in the future they could convincingly have him return. But if they and the audience are happy to leave it there, that works also. I'm very happy with how it ended, we all know tho, another Wick chapter down the road would not go unappreciated.

Amazing movie that’s hard to pick out a favorite action sequence since they all feel different. Each action sequence could be the “final fight” for any other action movie. They are that good. - Osaka has the best aesthetic and weapon diversity (guns, swords, knives, bows, nunchuck…) - Fighting on the streets of Paris is the most creative. Working cars and traffic into a shootout. - Fighting indoors in Paris has the best cinematography with the overhead Hotline Miami camera angle. Also Dragon Rounds. - The stairs fight is the most badass with John Wick and Caine teamed up. Donnie Yen killed it (literally) this movie. - The final duel is the most tense and stressful. Honestly the weakest action scene of JW4 is the Berlin night club scene, which is weird because they are usually the coolest part in any JW movie. Still entertaining though, just doesn’t feel “next level” like the rest of the action sequences.

I think berlin club suffers from cuts,the scene has no context,no great edging leading to an orgasm,they just arrive and start fighting,i think they took some context important scene (My favourite scenes are the hotline miami scene and the stairs.

@Luka Br What?? This is the most coherent John Wick movie. At twice the run time of the first John Wick, the movie still feel well-paced. 3 has the worst pacing by far. Over-indulged in complicated and convoluted high table lore, a problem that came from JW2. JW4 has none of that. They don’t spend half the movie explaining about all these made up high table rules and traditions that is extremely vague and convoluted. Like “John… walk in the dessert till you pass out.” That’s just silly, and they spent way too much time on it. John Wick 4? “Here’s a duel at 6 AM. Be there on time.” No bullshit. No over-indulgent with lore. That alone makes JW 4 much better than 2 and 3.

With John now being presumed dead there is a good chance for him to put up a surprise attack on the high table itself with the help of the other characters by his side now. I loved the movie but I would really love to see the story come a full circle.

They said that his dealings with the high table are complete and over. There would be zero point for him to go after them now that he's officially out. It was an incredible, and epic ending to a series that was completely satisfying. And that top down scene with the Dragons Breath was FUCKING INSANE!!!!!!! One of the best parts!!

I watched it the other day on Prime. I thought it was a riot. Exhausting but so much fun. Favourite sequence was the nightclub. The fat guy being a martial arts expert was totally unexpected. That kick he did to wick to knock him over the balcony was fantastic!

The dog sniffed his grave and looked into the distance is a hint he isn’t dead “Do you think he is in Heaven or Hell?” could be another hint. Heaven or Hell could be code for a location. It’s left ambiguous on purpose and Im fine either way if they made JW5 or just stopped here. JW 4 would end John’s story on a high note.

Saw on the internet, likely the makers are hanging the chapter 5 fate on how chapter 4 performs and if Keanu wish2 continue. Personally I felt sad if this is how its going to end. I know he faked his death. If they want to go with chapter 5, they have a high table arch, a villain from any high table 12 member country. Personally to me it's mind-blowing because I just re- watched John wick 1 2 3 continuously before watching chapter 4. Believe me. The movie story, screenplay feels like it happened within 2 to 4days

This was such a amazing action movie that was cleverly smartly directed its the best John Wick so far and I believe John is still alive because Winston tried to help John fake his death in Chapter 3 by shooting him off the roof but the adjudicater didn't fall for it but in 4th chapter The High Table will because he was in duel that got him shot multiple times, I believe John wants to finish them off as a Boba Yaga from the grave. I hope not. There’s no point in him being alive. He killed because he wanted revenge. The High Table understands one thing, the word among their organization. As they said, “otherwise, we’d be animals.” He got his revenge. Winston gets his place and position back. John is free from the High Table.

There will definitely be grieving families seeking their own vengeance against Wick. There might also be arrogant upstarts like Mr. Nobody who seek to be "Legend Killers" of some sort

The Bowery King believes JW is dead. However when he asks Winston if he thought he was in heaven or hell, Winston's response to him was vague enough to imply that Winston may have helped John fake his death. They built up enough new characters to take the series forward with spinoffs, though, so they could take it in any direction they like. A JW5 without JW doesn't make any sense. The script would have to be air tight if they do bring him back somehow.

The ending remind me a lot like the final episode in cowboy bebop when Spike was walking down the steps after spike finished killing vicious. It was a very ambiguous ending, and it left the audience thinking “ is he alive? Is he dead?” That was the feel that I got from watching John Wick. In my honest opinion, unless the story is really solid, there should be no need for another John Wick movie. After everything that he has undergone in these last four movies, he deserves peace. There’s no need to go after the high table because all his debts is wiped clean. If anything, if they want to do John Wick five, make it a prequel about the impossible task. Now there’s a story that really needs to be told.

That was a deliberate hink that Mr Nobodt could take the place of John Wick. Afterall, why was he priviledged to watch the fimal dawn shut out. I don't think there will be sequel to john wick 4, they ended the movie so well and in my opinion, they wouldn't drag john back into some other revenge story or something along that line after he spent 3 movies trying to get out. What i do think they will do is do a prequel to John wick 1. There is so much unknown about what John did to get out and what kind of "impossible task" John had to do in order to do so. We would be seeing john in his absolute prime which would be an absolute banger.

If there's no need for him to appear in a future film, then this will likely be left ambiguous with the assumption he's dead. That is unlikely though. I fully expect him to be alive, and show up in John Wick 5 and/or a spin-off with Caine and Akira.

What a great movie John Wick 4 . Full action movie ..but in the end he's gone.. I love the movie..I'm a fan for so many years now. Love Keanu Charles Reeves . My idol.

I can't imagine how John Wick would continue. John Wick has achieved all that he wanted in Chapter 4, and has gain his freedom from the High Table. Of course, someone else can call in a marker on Wick (like what happened in John Wick 2), but ostensibly, Wick is dead. So it's hard to call in a marker on a dead man (which is why John Wick faked his death, if he is still alive). Akira vs Caine is one loose end that needs tying up. And how that story plays out may well depend on Donnie Yen and Rina Sawayama's ability to commit to a full or multiple movies. Sawayama has her main music career to consider, and may not want to commit to gruelling stunt-heavy movie work. Donnie Yen is an actor, and this is his bread and butter, so unless he has other commitments (say in HK) he should be able to commit to one or more movie deals. Certainly, as a man who has something to live for, something to die for, and something to kill for, he has the most potential for a spin-off story arc. Maybe those can be the titles of the three movies. One obvious plot device is to either kill, or threaten his daughter. But again, he has won his freedom from the High Table, and they should not threaten him (or his daughter) anymore. Could Akira be the threat? Unlikely as it does not fit with her character. Her role in the future will depend on how many movies she can commit to. I could not help but notice that Winston is in need of a new Concierge, and Akira performed that role at the Osaka Continental... Another interesting character to develop and follow is Mr Nobody. This character is interesting, but in Chapter 4, while there were some questions, there were no real loose ends that need to be tied up. But that's a possible spin off.

I really don't think , after this epic addition, that they should have a John Wick 5. Unless it's a prequel to explain John Wick's origins and his past up until he meets his wife and retires. Up until we meet him in the first film. Obviously Keanu Reeves wouldn't be playing the young John Wick. He could probably play him around the time he's working for the Russians , and when "He killed two men in a bar with a FUCKING PENCIL!"

The movie is so good it feels unnatural to end it there. It feels like a new beginning to the series, rather than the end. There will also be a lot of new & more hard-core John Wick fans now who'll want to see more. My only worry about another sequel is that John Wick 4 is almost impossible to top without becoming ridiculous.

There was definitely a parallel there. The fact that he had all of that info, it must've come from somewhere. The Halle Berry connection makes the most sense, but I would not be surprised to see more of him in the future, if only to get that explanation

John Wick 5: John Wick is actually alive recuperating and living in a secluded monastery in Italy to make penance for their sins. The secret order is led by an elder (Liam Neeson) who is also an ex assassin but was able to escape from the clutches of the High Table and and form a secret religious order of ex assassins, living a live of peace in a very small unknown town. That peace was broken when a rogue High Table hired a hungry assassin (Christian Bale) to verify this rumor of the monastery and tear it down and kill all of them...........then let the scriptwriters write the rest.

The original intent of the first John Wick was never to show John before the events of the film. We're getting a prequel with The Continental, and I could see some sort of High Table prequel, but I don't know that we'll get anything for John specifically. I'd be up for it though
