What size/type driver needed to take screws out of shifter?

Hand select on RTI means best of 10 for looks. Hand select bore means a good shootable bore. Wont key-hole. Yes you can trust them with Hand select. guns are over graded but priced appropriately. Unless I specify a good bore, I assume I am getting a parts gun. Unless the add specifically says "most guns come with a good bore." Now some guns could have strong rifling but still keyhole. This is what I call a "large bore" it was probably over bored from factory. Many Enfield No 1's , Carcanos, and 7mm Mausers appear to be Large bored. These guns require a custom bullet diameter, but will shoot straight.

A Gurr 88 rifle should not require an F.F, L, because of the fact that it is an antique rifle, same thing as A71 84 Spandau mauser. And the same thing with a dutch beaumont , vitaly And little information for you too. Some of the gavere 88 rifles. You will see that has a turned down. Bolt handle the majority of those that you see that have the turn down. Bolt handle originally cavalry rifles. So that way, they could get them in the cavalry satchel's easier. The line of demarcation. For antique rifles, as far as I know.Is eighteen ninety one anything prior to eighteen ninety one does not need a federal firearm's license or even a c n r license

That receiver is fairly old. I see evidence of older scrubbed proof marks, and my *guess* is that the receiver was made in England, went through an FTR in India. and was eventually DP'd. Ishapore eliminated the magazine cutoff slot in 1941, so even if it's an Ishapore-made receiver, it's at least that old.

My wife inherited a g88 from her great-granddad. It was rebarreled to .300 Savage back in the 1920s. I'd like to make an '05 conversion, and have all of the parts needed. A friend of mine has a milling machine to cut the bullet retainer slot. Could you post a picture of the left side on your g88/05 without the stock? It would help me know precisely where to make the cut. Thanks!

Had a generally good experience with them, until I purchased a refinished MAS 49/56 from them. I used their FFL Finder and had the weapon shipped to a local dealer. The dealer received it, and promptly sent it back, saying they didn't "receive" weapons. Called RTI and was blamed for the screwup, I ended up eventually talking with Uli, and that went nowhere. They could have new-in-box German STGs before I would ever deal with them again.

As far as implied scarcity goes? They send me e-mails daily. One day, this is our last one, then a week later there is the next batch. :) It is like buying sea horses off the back page of a comic book. It could happen! LOL! What are looking for, and how much are you willing to pay? Either way you get a part of history. I enjoy restoring guns, so I roll the dice a little harder than others. :)

My Rifle came in for royal tiger. Man mine is rough. Absolutely "0" bluing left due to them wire wheeling the whole thing. In fact, they wore wheeled the receiver so much it gouged it all over. I'm going to lightly sand, blue the rifle. Should turn out really good but dang, I cannot believe how much they wore wheeled this rifle.

I also ordered three rifles from Century a couple of years ago, but unfortunately, none came with intact stocks. It seems you've had better luck with one in good condition and two with broken stocks, providing you with an opportunity for restoration. I managed to acquire some Chinese Type 88 rifles from them as well, although their bores are in poor condition, they should serve well as a source of spare parts, including bolts and stocks, for my Gewehr 88 project. I'm contemplating fitting those Hanyang stocks onto the Gewehr 88, perhaps as a hobby shooter 🤷♂or even attempting a sporterized version-although that may require significant modification. I've seen someone achieve it before, albeit with extensive alterations. At least the receiver should be compatible. Regarding the bolts, it appears that headspacing is an issue. The prices for bolt heads on eBay are exorbitant! It's quite a challenge to find a full Gewehr 88 for under $400. Nonetheless, these projects promise to be enjoyable, as I embark on the hunt for parts and delve into the world of restoration.
