What a brilliant video, thank you so much for putting it all together for us with so many little tips (eg. Using white spirit on the edge of scissors or Stanley knife to stop it from sticking). What is the "mastic" that you're referring to? It looks like double sided tape but my local hardware store has no idea!

I grinched when I see so many holes drilled in the top of the caravan the glue would have been enough there's no way I would drill anything in the top of the roof of the caravan

Hi both! Love the videos. You guys have inspired us so much. Thanks for the tips! What adhesive did you use to stick the 3mm ply to the caravan? We are having trouble sourcing the right adhesive because of the polystyrene 😢. Any advise would be very much appreciated 😊 xx

Great videos we've just bought a caravan with one front window damp so hopefully not as damp as yours. Just to work out were to source ply boards with correct pattern already on.

This is probably a long shot but we have the same caravan as you and unfortunately it didn’t come with curtains just wondered if you knew where to get some from as we don’t know the attachments and sizes ect

I live In my caravan and my heater fan works great. I love it. The best way to use it is in auto mode. The fan will adjust its speed depending on the heat of the heater all my vents give out hot air I’ve even added one to blow hot air on to my bed and it’s great.

I'm thinking of buying my first caravan. It'll be from a dealership for me. What brand do I go for? A lot of people are saying bailey and swift because there's no wood in them.

Very good Informative video. I didn't know about the leveling. We have a modern spec caravan. Also the towing is informative. But we are planning to pay for towing and move around seasonal pitches. Which improves on the longevity of the caravan for sealing. Our dish is modern and picks up channels. Ok. One thing that is not mentioned is the internet. Modern living requires the internet. Not all areas have access to mobile. In fact the prettier and more rural the location likely means you don't get mobile at all and even less likely a data signal strong to do much of anything...... Here comes in starlink satellite.....imagine having broadband speeds off the chart. Faster even than your home. 200mb/s .. minimum 50mb/s. Easy to set up and will work in any weather. Stream anything. 4k. No probs. Contract is switch on switch off. It's the holy grail matured 2 years ago and know starting to entrench itself across the country in fact across the world. 60w runs the hardware. Can even power it off 12vdc but not naturally so 240vac mostly people will use.

Just finished watching the whole playlist, spending a few days on it. It's April 2024 and really enjoyed it. I know you have moved on from van life, but thank you, your videos have been really lovely to watch. I would have never, ever worked in that cold, dreary weather. Yours was a true labour of love! Good luck!

We got it made brand new!

I have been watching all your hard work but the problem is the fact that the ALKO chassis are not diagonally torsionally strong they allow the body to twist and the first time you put a small amount of pressure on the corner steadies you will be back to square one, I am not a key board expert I speak from experience having owned a Bailey. A 2" x 1" steel tube inside the van bolted through to the chassis and supporting the corner steadies would give it more strength and reduce the body flexing and popping of the sealed joints.
