I dont think alana was feeling hannibal more I think it truly trying to take her own advice though it was a little cruel to kiss him knowing she couldn't be with him I cant really fault her for doing something human

20:12 right???😂 I just ended up thinking of the show as sth bordering fantasy. Like, not just Tobias not using guns, but ain't no way Hannibal or the other serial killers can set up these elaborate theatrical crime scenes in ONE night w/o anyone spotting them at all I think the tone of the show plays a big part in helping the viewers suspend our disbelief. Bryan Fuller (the showrunner) said he gave every director who comes to direct an ep the same lecture, 'We are not making television. We are making a pretentious art film from the 80s'. I think they nailed the pretentious vibe so much viewers just don't question much of what's happenning on screen😂

12:23 i think this is probably why Hannibal didn't like Tobias but seek company with Will. Tobias just happened to see him doing the murder. He didn't "climb over the wall" to know who Hannibal is. While Will currently don't know who the chesapeaked ripper is, but he knows exactly how he thinks/views his victims, and that makes Hannibal feels seen and kinda want Will to know it's him.

2:18 The strings that are made from guts are called catgut strings, but they are NOT made from cat's gut, fortunately😅 Catgut makers usually use sheep or goat intestines to make the strings, occationally cattle or donkey intestines are used. There are multiple theories on why the strings are called 'catgut'. The most likely theories are "catgut was shortened from cattlegut" and "catgut was originally called kitgut, from when the word kit meant fiddle, making kitgut means fiddle string"

This version of Green Goblin is a split personality. Norman is a victim here too. If they physically killed Goblin, Norman would die as well. Using the cure was the only way to kill Goblin without killing Norman.

hannibal sent will to tobias after tobias said he’d kill whoever showed up to “test” will, most likely to see if will would kill tobias to protect himself. after tobias shows up and claims to have killed two people, hannibal is visibly shocked because he didn’t consider will might lose. at that point he assumes the worst that will was one of the people tobias killed. when will walks into the office at the end hannibal had tears of relief at seeing him alive. i think this is the moment hannibal realized the extent of his feelings for will.

15:18 It's so funny to me how we all know that Hannibal is the psychopathic cannibal serial killer but we all cheer for him if he's fighting another killer.🤣🤣 I think the reason is how Mads Mikkelsen played his character as Hannibal. Brilliant I'm eating my meat sandwich as I'm watching this. This is almost comedic too funny.

I love this ep so much. Just look at Hannibal. He has literally heart eyes for Will here. He was so happy that Will was alive. And Will smiles at him so softly! Btw, the scene between Hannibal and Will after the fight with Tobias was planned to be more intimate. From script: "Jack moves off to study the crime scene as Will sits, taking gauze from a med-kit and dabbing Hannibal’s bloody forehead."

He was mad that Will kissed Alana and sent him to Tobias knowing Tobias planned to kill the cops, when they came. I think he really surprised himself, when he realised how upset he would be, if Will had been killed… his almost teary eyes, when he sees Will😂❤

@@ellenburger6103 I believe Hannibal sent Will to test him, to see what he would do. To see what he is capable of. Well he was wondering what would happen (as always). But yes, Hanibal realized that he didn't want Will to die. He realized that he was worried about Will. And this surprises him. Before Will, he was only worried about his sister.

this is probably my favorite episode of s1! you can really see the development of will & hannibal’s relationship. and the choices hannibal made in the ep really reflect his internal struggle. bc tobias was there, as an opportunity for hannibal to see and be seen by somebody else, to have a partner in crime. but he only wants will to fill that spot. he wants companionship in will. to be fully known by him. and hannibal genuinely worrying about will being dead shows his humanity and capability for feeling emotions. i just love the scene in the aftermath, with hannibal just Looking at will :))

14:12 Hannibal's surgical skills are not a secret he has to keep from others. Psychotherapists need no academic degree to be entitled to practise. Psychologists need a degree in psychology. Psychiatrists however need a degree in medicine. They are physicians in the first place. And Hannibal is a psychiatrist. 🙂 P.S.: Oh, sorry! I see you figured it out in the end. 😊

Tongue is delicious. You have to boil or better poach it for quite a while. Afterwards it's most tender and delicate. 😊 Also keep in mind that the skin is removed before further preparation, so you technically don't eat something that came in direct contact with the inside of the animal's mouth, if that helps you to get used to the idea. 😉 P.S.: Most likely Hannibal didn't serve human tongue. I mean how much meat would you get out of one single piece?

14:36 and the blood separation scene was real, using pig's blood. All the food this ep were real, made with real meat. Which is a WOAH for me cus this is a freaking feast! The food stylist mentioned that sometimes in other shows they'd use gelatin to fake the meat menu, but because in Hannibal they had to show him actually cooking, they need real meat for those cooking and plating scenes, so making the real dish is easier

Just a point of reference...Hannibal was a surgeon before he became a psychiatrist. He said he saw "too much death" in the ER and decided to switch. That's also why Miriam Lass came to see him. He was the doctor on call the night in the ER when the guy who was turned into a pin cushion had come in (something that her and Jack had spoke about in terms of trying to figure out how that guy came across the Ripper). I don't think Jack nor Will knew that about him, but Alana might have known that.

11:22 i find this lil scene of Hannibal sitting at his desk in his office after Will didn't show up to his appointment hilarious😂 He looked like he'd been stood up by a date. The awkward touch on his office phone/remote(???) on the desk. He even checked his notebook to confirm that he got their appointment time right😂 It's also the fact that this ep had Hannibal open his office door 4 times, shot in the same angle 1st time, Hannibal greeted Franklyn very professionally, and added a quick polite smile, obviously just for manner's sake 2nd time, he opened the door to greet Will, still professionally, but we can see his smile reached his eyes. And in that session he asked if Will's his patient or his friend. 3rd time, he greeted Franklyn professionally, but with no smile in sight. He was obviously fed up with the guy, especially since Franklyn tried to be his friend and kept leaning in and touching his knee during their session. 4th time, Hannibal opened the door WHILE SMILING and then the smile dropped immediately when he didn't see Will😫😂 Hannibal was irritated by Franklyn so much probably bcus he could see himself being like Franklyn to Will. The door being shot from the same angle every time just adds to the comedic irony of it all for me.
