My mind went away when you were talking about your book. Perhaps it's a non smoker that just enjoys old tins and things. Finds a tin and didn't realize there was tobacco in it. Then captured by the aroma has trouble smoking it and seeks out the towns tobacconist to teach him. Only to find out it's not about the pipe or the tobacco but about slowing down. Learning patience again. Thank you for the journey you always take us on with your videos. You and the lovely Julia are true gems.

Richard. You need to tamper your tobacco once litten, to keep it burning. No need to relight it so many times. Keep smoking my Friend.

Maybe the pipe should be the main character in your book, followed it's journey through the 20th century perhaps. The story would then include points in history and the changes in society as it passes through the generations.

Morning Mr Vobes, for me personally pipe smoking is not just about the pipe, tamper or even the tobacco of which are all extremely important. But the whole experience from picking up my pipe ensuring it's clear and has no obstructions. To packing, lighting and slowing time to enjoy not just smoking but to take in my surroundings and allow my mind to contemplate the craziest of thoughts about the world we live in. Have a fabulous Sunday.

I gave up smoking probably twenty or more years ago. I only ever smoked a pipe but was never a heavy smoker, an ounce of tobacco would last sometime for weeks. I returned to the pipe eighteen months ago & found some of the familiar tobacco brands had disappeared. Also I had to smoke more careful at first, apart from tongue bite there was the dreaded nicotine sickness. I had to wean myself back, so to speak.
@battlemorph2 сағат бұрын
A sweet drink, preferably a fizzy one, will fix nicotine sickness in 5 minutes.

I have been smoking a pipe for the past 48 years. It has been my anchor, keeping me sane, grounded, and focused. The haze of smoke it creates offers me a unique lens through which to view the world. The deeper the problem, the more bowls it takes to unravel it-much like Sherlock Holmes’ methodical approach to solving his own mysteries.👍

I may be writing this right now from a very different latitude to many pipe smokers here… but I really enjoy smoking with fresh juice (a thick mango and lime juice). Sometimes a freshly squeezed apple juice is amazing for it too. It depends on the blend as well, some type of fruits are more suited to different blends…

The aluminum pipe looks like a Falcon pipe, which is still made today. My grandfather smoked one in the 60s and 70s, and I also smoke one today. The aluminum shaft help cool the smoke. My favorite tobacco is Orlik Golden Sliced. Wonderful videos!

I find your conversations in the study by thee fire absolutely pleasant. My two favorites are Germain’s Royal Jersey Dark Cavendish (tin note is such a tasty raisin or date pudding smell) and Orlick golden slice (a clean Virginia with such a sweet hay and bread taste, with just a touch of perique)

Hi there @VobesShow, I suffered the exact same ailment across Christmas into the new year. I also couldn't smoke my pipe, didn't actually want to tbh. All better now, well at about 90%... but back enjoying my pipe, so much so I started my own Pipe & Pipe Tobacco KZbin channel @carrigstudio I have a review of St Bruno there also, as well as some for Sutliff blends I managed to find... take a look, hopefully you'll like it! Thanks, you've a great channel!

Are you telling me they've outlawed tobacco products to an entire age group of people? That sounds nuts. "Unfair" is a nice way to put it. I would say tyrannical.

I agree, I’m 46 and have smoked since my early 30s…. Pipe smoking you don’t inhale and has less toxic additives than cigarettes which are pretty bad. I can smoke everyday for a month, then not for weeks, so I doubt nicotine is addictive at all, and many report this as well,,, Plus now cannabis is legal many places, rightly so, which you do inhale, I’ll trust J R R Tolkien on pipes, cheers👌🍺⚖️🔥

I'm not sure of it's availability in the UK, but if you can get it, I'd suggest a tin of "Merry Monk" by Drucquer & Sons. I first tried it December of 2023, and it is now, at least in my own mind, forever associated with the Winter Solstice/Christmas/Yule/New Year season. An absolutely wonderful mixture 😁👍

Regarding your lighter's flame, are you purging all the remaining butane and air before refilling? If not it could be affecting your flame. Cleaning the lighter around the nozzle will help too. In addition you should be using premium butane that has been filtered, cheaper drug store butane often is not filtered so contaminates could be clogging your nozzle. Rectifying any or all of these can greatly improve your lighter's performance.

Hello, great that you drink a hot chocolate. I sometimes love to have a hot chocolate together with my pipes too. In my pipe club there is a fellow and he said that if a man drinks chocolate he is not a "real man". I simply answered looking just in his eyes: You are not the one who defines that! He respects me after stating this in such an assertive way. Concerning my current favorite tobacco. It is the S.V.H Flake from Dan Tobacco. Do you know it? Greetings from Germany. Matthias

Could people dishonestly use this method when a small business send their bill for work done. Or is it all about the payment slip?

Yup, you said the word, "meditative". That's about how much it does for me. Many a night or morning, outside in hot or cold, rainy or snowing, windy or quiet (windy being hard to light) or any moment in time since the 90s (cant smoke in house) Always, in a meditative introspective view while puffing away. Its always a favorite ritual to think things upon for myself. One thing I will mention though since I wasn't the kind of guy to clean my pipes after every smoke, was that once your sick and decide to smoke, clean your pipes right after especially when your sick. Ive made the mistake of forgetting to clean it later, only to come back to that specific pipe on rotation, (after getting over the cold/flu a months ago) only to get the exact same sickness again. Now, I clean stem and pipe after every smoke which I shoulda been doing all along.
