I used the dodge ram nv3500 mount and had to weld new spots for the mounts it sat a bit further forward

It was an NV3500 out of the Ram 1500 but I had to modify it because it came up slightly under the dashboard. So I welded a bar at a 90° angle, ran it under the console and welded the stick to the other end of the bar. Worked perfectly

There’s 318 Magnum V8 engines are affordable and plenty of parts available for the 318 and 360 Magnum engines

i know this is old, but the other 5 speed swaps ive seen they had to carve up the bottom of the dash/ash tray/vlc. Yours isnt all jacked, did you use a shifter relocate?

If I found a 98 Dakota with the 318. 4x4. Nv3500 would it be the ideal donor for a ZJ jeep that’s 5.2 wanting to go 5 speed and keep 4x4.

Moving that temp air sensor closer to the air filter helps i do that on my gm tbi n it really pulls nice but my mpg drops big time

What headers would be good for both sides with the NV3500? On my 5.9, I went with a knockoff 737-H8205 shorty blockhugger from Ebay, and manifold on the passenger side because there was still clearance issues even with the block hugger 😓 It's a sad setup that leaks. I need a new exhaust, but can't find headers that would accomodate the starter being on the driver's side now.

I went with patriot center dumps. I did have to notch one of the tubes on the passenger header to make it clear the frame.

@@moneyhungry8604 Notch the header? Like cut it? or dent it? And furthermore, not the body? I know it's a unibody, but wouldn't modifying the exhaust constrict the flow?

@@5.9manualzj I did a very slight notch on the frame (yes I know but it was about a couple millimeters at most) and just a slight heat and bend on the one header tube. nothing that was major
